Hi Guys,

Somewhere on a dockside in the great Egyptian port city of Alexandria, British… Australian and New Zealand troops muster on the jetties about to be taken out to their transports for an unknown destination…

Rumour has it however that they are destined for some God-forsaken place called… “GALLIPOLI!”… Wherever that is.

Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy C.

Yes the boats are cool but they need some Diggers ready to land aboard, hopefully they will make a appearance very soon.....:wink2:

Wow, really nice display, this range has tons of potential!! The sailors are from the "Streets of Old Hong Kong" series, (my wife's favorite!). The sailor on the dock is from Fields of Battle. They look just great with this diorama.

What kind of boat is that in the left edge of the photo?
Is that a boat that has already be produced?

After looking at it, it looks a little like the US Navy Steam Launch, for the US Navy Series, the number of that piece is USN012. I'm not sure if it's the same model though, could be modified.........

Attractive display.
I especially like the fruit seller trying to flog water melon to the embarking troops. Nice touch.....I bet he's a kiwi {sm4}

Great looking scene. Andy, I don't need to start another line in my collection, but this is very tempting!

Duke:

I couldn't agree more. I am already bursting at the seams, but this is one tempting new series.

Everyone needs at least one boat in their collection PA........come on mate, you know you want one. ^&grin:tongue:

....'Kiwi-fruit' now that's funny.^&grin

Only a NZ Special Forces guy could pass himself off so effectively as an Egyptian fruit vendor. Look carefully, none of the surrounding soldiers are any the wiser. Darn it those kiwis are good!

By contrast, the preferred option for Australian Special Forces was in fact fishmonger.

I love history. It's everything to me.....
