Hi Guys,
During my recent trips to Singapore and “The Land of Oz” among the potential suggested subjects that K&C could do in the future was…”The Polish Army of 1939”.

While I readily agree that it’s a fascinating subject so too are the following…

1. “Ancient Rome and its Legions”
2. “The Battle for Malaya and Singapore”
3. “The Pacific”
4. “The Kokoda Trail”
5. “Vikings”
6. “The Battle of Hastings”
7. “The Indian Mutiny”
8. “The Zulu War”
9. “The Boer War”
10. “The Wars of Scottish Independence”
11. “The War of The Roses”
12. “The Battle of Jutland”
13. “East African Campaign 1914-18”
14. “The Boxer Rebellion”
15. “The Burma Campaign”
16. “Vietnam War” (U.S.)
17. “Vietnam War” (Fr.)
18. “The Easter Uprising 1916”
19. “The Retreat from Kabul 1842”
20. “The Falklands War”

And, believe me, that is not the whole list of proposals and suggestions that is just a random selection.

As I’ve said many times before…”coming up with ideas of your favorite battle, campaign or war is relatively easy…I do it all the time!”

The hard part is finding the one (or ones) that others will actually dig into their pockets and pay good money for.

Terry the Phantom Warrior may believe this or that may sell better than some other “fringe releases” but it’s not his money. The only thing he has to invest is…his opinion and a touch of the keypad to express it.

Oh, that it were all so simple…

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy C.

P.S. Here’s another little photo “thankyou”…Enjoy!

Nice sneak peek mate, you just keep those Grey Germans coming they will keep a roof over your head..................^&grin

Love that tank! You will see that doing something in next year's Brisbane dios!

Interesting tank and figures. Nice colours, weathering, sculpts, and poses.

Nice set of Frenchies and their supporting tank
guy:)

These later war French infantry and Renault tank look REALLY good. The early war French are some of KC's best work and these look to be just as well done. Can't wait to get my hands on these. -- Al

Nice looking tank. I will have to see how the Poilu go with JJD's as I've just picked up a set of those and are thrilled with them.

Andy, if people keep asking why no 1939 poles, maybe there is something to it? I have been lobbying for polish cavalry since watching the movie Lotna with the charge at Krojanty..... What most collectors forget you are operating a business and being the largest TS company you do not have to focus on niche offerings to make money like others. However if you can do a niche such as yugoslavian Waffen SS than anything is possible...

But I got to admit you are born marketer.... the old bait and switch .... lead with Poles but distract with a sparkling new ww1 French release....

Best wishes and continued buying..... lol

I for one have no interest in WWII Poles at all.
Easter Uprising would be cool though

And some time to do historical research on the subject. It seems to take 2 or 3 years for a good idea to sink in past your skull. {eek3} Remember "Russians don't sell". :rolleyes2: So we should see some Poles about 2016. Perhaps a TKS with a 20mm automatic cannon, a small squad of Poles (you've already got a sculpt of the uniform) and a couple of Cavalry figures. Perhaps even a 7TP light tank.

Now that has come right out of left field, Andy gave no hint at all he was doing a French tank and infantry ........always like a surprise {sm4}

K&C now doing WW1 later war French, they look fantastic and I will buy. Just think less than 2 years ago there were a few cries for the WW1 French, now we have them coming out the , well you know! What,s that saying about don,t wish for something it may come true.
The last 2 years I don,t think I spent $500 a year on metal figures, it used to be in the thousands. But finally something new, WW 1, that I really like, and the money is flowing. I still like WW 2 but it was getting really stale. How many walking Germans, shermans, tigers, etc can one get excited about.
Somethings I disagree about what Andy says but he hit the nail on the head with his comment about it,s easy to type your wants on a keyboard but a whole lot different investing your money.

With reference to Andy's list. Can I put throw my support behind the "Battle of Jutland". A 1/30 HMS Lion (or SMS Lutzow) would do nicely for starters. It's only just under two years to the 100th anniversary so Andy will need to get cracking!

I would also have quite liked early War Poles - but you can't have everything. However, if Andy is thinking of adding future releases to his "British Normandy" ranges, another vehicle (Challenger perhaps?), in addition to the existing armoured car, in 1st Polish Armoured Division markings would be nice.

Boxer Rebellion.........................I like it. It should be a natural extension of some of the Imperial China, etc lines. Long ago, for those who don't know, K&C did do a few Boxer figures in gloss including a Dragon Gun which is superb!

Very clever of Andy to conduct a Poll using a Pole as camo. ^&grin

But the Battle of Jutland? The ship models would be over 20 ft. long {sm2}

Very nice model and one I will buy when it comes out. The Renault FT-17 is thought of as a WWI tank but it was much more than that. It was used by the POLES in 1939 against the German invasion and by the French in large numbers in 1940. Almost 2000 were captured by the Germans and used for much of the war, not as a front line tank, but to patrol occupied territories. So it can be done in WWI French, WWII French, WWI USA, WWII Polish and WWII German colours. It's one of the tanks I've been asking for to extend the Fields of Battle range. And soon it will be in 1939 Polish colours too {sm3}

Thank you Andy^&grin

Nice WWI preview. Those late war French and accompanying tank look really good. I must say as a avid WWII collector I really haven't had much interest in collecting WWI however when I see releases like this I start thinking maybe, just maybe a few pieces {sm2} {sm3} but we all know that's a slippery slope!

CFM,

You may want to look at some of John Jenkins' releases. I received several last week and this week and was blown away by the quality. No one does WW I better than John.

I know it gets mentioned quite often, but again, it is worth noting this this forum represents a fraction of the toy soldier market and just because a handful of collector’s on here want something does not mean that it is a consensus of all collectors. Andy does countless meet and greets and studies the market place. If Poles were going to fly off of the shelves I am pretty sure K&C would make them.

Agreed... I think the collectors on the forum are probably more hardcore and similarly those who attend meet and greets might be even more so than the average collector in the hobby thus preferences may diverge from mainstreet. "But stating the obvious", if treefrog and meet and greets Q&A were not helpful to manufacturers than why do they spend so much time reading, posting and attending events... I think the forum provides some good insight to them but at the end of the day they need to cater to the mainstream audience as they run a business first and foremost and that is why we see endless Shermans, Tigers etc.....
