“To Por not to P… That is the question.” (1 Viewer)

I have the desert version of the tractor and gun. It is one of my favorite pieces in my collection for some strange reason. I have always liked the painted windows but this new version looks even better. Maybe K&C will release a desert version also.

Desert version is nice and I have it too. I would have preferred though if the gun crew had wore the usual desert khaki shorts, are bare bodied or more lightly dressed. Perhaps, a new desert version release will have a different set of crew some time later for the battle of El Alamein.

The 25 pounder is still used in this part of the world as a ceremonial gun, reminiscent of what was once a British colony.

That 25pdr set is stunning, to say the least!!! Can't wait to see what K&C has to deliver this year, and we still have 8 dispatches to go...

I was thinking the same my friend, makes you wonder what else will be coming for Normandy this year^&cool

yes lets hope that all three levels are clearly marked for those who just can't see the difference. I await with interest what the lower end will cost and if they are del prado like and, what the mainstream will look like and cost. There will have to be clear price differences for these stark choices in quality. From the recent discussions about the Russians I wonder where they fitted into this scenario? Just what actually are being made and released right now????

Is this just for figures are AFV's also covered in this development??

The 25 pounder looks good but what are the releases with it is there one figure with gun and the rest add on's??

Mitch, I'm hoping this is gun with crew and seperate towing vehicle, but as you say it could have crew in add on form.

Rob...

its a big set though when you look at it. Truck limber and gun and several crew members. If we go by recent artillery releases its going to have to be split in some shape or its going to be too costly for most collectors. As it stands unless its done in the cheap level!!LOL I would imagine two sets of crew the gunner probably attached to the 25 pounder and then truck and limber as one set.

I have the desert version from the first release but, this does look a good set

Mitch,

You're quite right here , I'd forgotten the limber for a mo. Yes that would be a big old release wouldn't it!{eek3}

I have the Desert version but no tractor so I really want the full kit and kaboodle with this one.

Great isn't it Tom{bravo}} K&C as usual producing some fine releases lately.Great time to be collecting Brit/Commonwealth (German too!)^&cool

And there is the rest of the summer to come yet!:wink2:

Rob

Cheers Rob and it's ramping up to be a good year for any releases that are WW2!

Oh no !!!!

I already can see the upcoming heavy debating here about the difference in price, quality and value of the three lines (top end, Mainstream and "less-expensive") - compared to K&C figures 10 years ago and other manufactors.

:rolleyes:

Oliver

Oliver ,

To gauge what a less expensive line may look like , it may be easy to look at DelPrado or Hachette as an example of what this line may end up looking like ! just a guess...But if that was the case , I would probably buy into that line as well , because I have some Hachette & DelPrado that I really like...
I will attach a couple of pic's of these as an example...
The german cavalry trooper is from DelPrado & the Polish trooper is Hachette , also the Romanian infantry is from DelPrado...
We shall see...

A stroll in the sun...note the sticks in hand...no webbing...bit of a wander in a rest area ?.....maybe they were herding the cows .....whatever...good luck to them...TomB

Joe...

Del prado did 4 figures for £20 or just over when they came out when I was at Uni. I wonder what the peasant/starter level of K&C will cost??

Considering DP was all K&C made it will be interesting to see the differences in the three ranges. So far P level does not seem any different to what is available now and, what could be called ''mainstream''

I wonder if there will be a coming transformation to ensure there is a clear difference mainstream now becomes P and two lesser levels enter the fray???

Yes they were herding the cows.Here is blurb with pic;

Cattle being driven past a Morris 'Quad' artillery tractor, 8 July 1944. The cattle were being evacuated from the forward areas.

Maybe they were and they were German cattle!:wink2:

Nice to hear K&C's responce. I still wish they hadn't chosen OMG to be "PEED" on despite potentially being the best Brit para's they've ever released. My hope is that we will see mainstream releases of OMG. Having said that I feel like the bears in that famous childs story. "I like my K&C not too expensive, not too cheap, just right." Which is to say I like the way they do things normally. This change to multiple lines seems cumbersome and awkward to me and for collectors in general. Of note the new Quad and artillery looks awesome, a must have for my collection for sure. {bravo}}

I've got two desert 25lbers and two desert quads and Limber. This new 25lb gun and other sets looks fab!

Rob, I'm very disappointed about your comment!
You should know that after 1941 all German cattle where blond and had blue eyes!
