Great progress, John! And thanks for the nod on the Araldite Seeing the shots of your bench and tools, I think we could probably be dropped at each other's benches and fit right in.
The reins on these are very nicely done. They're similar to the ones in Traditions kits of mounted musicians--no surprise, though, since Mr. Caton sculpted most if not all of those, too. They're substantial enough to work with, in terms of gluing, shaping, painting, etc.
I usually have to replace the reins in Imrie-Risley kits, on the other hand. They're usually too delicate, and have just a small nub-and-dent to attach to the horse. I wind up drilling a hole through the horse's mouth, making a basic bit and snaffle, I think it is, out of wire, and then using lead foil for the reins.
The variety of poses you have here is excellent, too. I like that you'll be able to have a unique pose for each horse in the band.
