1st post and K&C damage limitation (1 Viewer)

This is my first post and, apart from wanting to say hello to all you guys I thought I would do something I have not seen on the site before and, show some pics of a rebuild that I undertook on a K&C Chaffee.

I hope, that firstly, all the pics come through in one attempt if not it will be in a few threads but, I wanted to show that even when disaster has struck your AFV's etc they can be rebuilt and, look as good as new. I have done lots of this kind of work and, other stuff so, do not give up if you have that dreaded accident with your prized pieces.

The pics show the initial devastation through to completion

Welcome to the forum. With repair talent like that you have the ability to make this hobby so much more affordable for yourself because the damaged stuff at dealers and ebay go for a hefty discount. As long as your not looking to flip/sell product its a great way to go! I wish I had the time and talent you appear to have because I could save a lot of money and probably have a much deeper collection.

I love broken stuff. It costs less and if done right you can freak people out when you convert it and someone else thinks it was pristine and collectible

Thanks for the warm welcome and, glad you like the work. I do lots of stuff like this to help collectors whose pieces have been damaged just enjoy tinkering and, know what its like to pay good money for something and, have it damaged.

CFM... Never bought from E-bay and never thought of doing it as a profit thing I just don't think there would be a market as you would have to state that it was a previously damaged piece and repaired and, most collectors want 'mint' (I know I do).

In coming weeks etc I will post some repaints and conversions which, hopefully will be of interest.

Thanks for that. I use Lots of different products mostly, now I use rocket products as you have to be really careful with some glues as they either do not refix polystone or, nastily can melt the bits you are trying to bond.
