Gabby Gabreski was the highest tally American ace in WWII flying the P-47 Thunderbolt or flying jug for the 8th Air force, 56th fighter group. He passed in 2002. I have 2 nicely framed autographed 8" x 10" glossy's $30 for the pair, you pay shipping.

Nice collectable Ray, however Richard (Dick) Bong was the highest tally American ace in WWII, all achieved flying P-38 Lightning. Gabreski was the top ace in the P-47 Thunderbolt.

Nice collectable Ray, however Richard (Dick) Bong was the highest tally American ace in WWII, all achieved flying P-38 Lightning. Gabreski was the top ace in the P-47 Thunderbolt.

You are both correct, but my misstatement is he had the highest American tally in the ETO.
