Well its almost that time of year again. Only 11 more days till the first Saturday and then 13 until Florida State takes on Row Boat U. So any predictions for this year? Im going with Texas vs. an SEC foe for the title game. With any luck the Noles will make it to the ACC title game to face Georgia Tech. Last but not least I hope my Dawgs can do like they always do and shock when theyre not expected too.

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT STATE FIGHT! VICTORY FOR MSU!!!!!!!!

Don't be deceived by hype and pre-season rankings, for the champion will be the SEC, the only real football conference in America. Those southern boys can play ball. The Tide and the Gators will be hard to beat. Incidentally, I am an ACC fan, but I hold no illusions (or delusions) when it comes to that. Go Terps. -- lancer

Amen to that. And with their new tv deal from ESPN Southern football is set for another decade of dominance in the national spotlight.

College football is my favorite sport. Fight on for old SC! My Trojans have a tough path this year with a new QB and road games against Ohio St., Oregon, Cal, ND etc. The biggest knock on the SEC is that they only schedule top 20 non-conferences teams on the road about once every hundred years or so. ;) It has become a farce - Florida is playing Charleston Southern? That is like Mike Tyson fighting Tiny Tim.

Dont forget Georgia went to Arizona State last year and is heading out to face Oklahoma State this year.

Yes, a couple of teams have made exceptions, but overall a woeful non-conference schedule particularly Florida. On the flip side they do have a tough conference schedule. I read some unbelievable stat about Florida or maybe LSU not playing a top 20 non-conference team outside their own state in over a decade - or something along those lines.

1. Georgia: at Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Tennessee Tech, at Georgia Tech
2. South Carolina: at N.C. State, Florida Atlantic, South Carolina State, Clemson
3. LSU: at Washington, Louisiana-Lafayette, Tulane, Louisiana Tech
4. Alabama: vs. Virginia Tech, Florida International, North Texas, Chattanooga
5. Tennessee: Western Kentucky, UCLA, Ohio, Memphis
6. Vanderbilt: Western Carolina, at Rice, at Army, Georgia Tech
7. Mississippi State: Jackson State, Georgia Tech, Houston, at Middle Tennessee State
8. Auburn: Louisiana Tech, West Virginia, Ball State, Furman
9. Florida: Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida International, Florida State
10. Kentucky: at Miami (Ohio), Louisville, Louisiana-Monroe, Eastern Kentucky
11. Arkansas: Missouri State, vs. Texas A&M, Eastern Michigan, Troy
12. Mississippi: at Memphis, Southeastern Louisiana, UAB, Northern Arizona

Without hammering them to pieces, because I have quite a bit of hatred toward Lizard Kisser U, I will say that when youve got a stadium like theirs, not a lot of incentive to leave. That said, theyre dragging down the SECs reputation by staying home. Get out there and build it like Georgia and LSU. Heck, even Tennessee has been out to the west coast.

I hope Michigan State has a decent season. Like Louie says " GO Green and White". I no longer keep my season tickets now that the kids are not going to state. I still go to some games.

NOTRE DAME! NOTRE DAME! NOTRE DAME! ND vs Oklahoma, I'm very optimistic :D As for the Trojans and Spartans :} with much respect :D

I use to hate the Trojans the most but the Spartans are quickly moving up the ladder. I'll never forget Stanton planting the MSU flag at the 30 in Southbend. That was so disrespectful and I hope he get his knee caps crushed in the NFL. The moron even admitted he couldn't find the 50 so he planted it at the 30.

I'm still licking my wounds from that blow out loss to Florida in the Championship game..........................that said, go Sooners!!

Go OU!!

Southern Cal has been playing football for 100+ years and they just announced they are starting a freshman at QB for first time in history.

Amazing, now hopefully ND can beat them this year, or at least make it somewhat competitive.

I already ordered my USC National Championship jersey & hat!

FIGHT ON,
Marc

And the Sooners fall to BYU. Didn't see that coming.

Interesting day. Thought old Navy was going to pull it off. Tough way to lose.:( OSU must be breathing a real sigh of relief as Navy could have made them the main headline for the day. -- lancer

Terrible day for the ACC, were clearly not ready for the big time yet. And of course I expected better from my Dawgs, tough loss to OkSt.

Today's the big day for me. 1st FSU game and 1st performance with the Marching Chiefs. Time to start bringing the glory back to the ACC.
