Just out of interest, how does one identify a fellow treefrogger at the show?

Just out of interest, how does one identify a fellow treefrogger at the show?

They can usually be found being ejected from the show / bar by security staff or swinging from chandeliers making strange noises whilst having empty gin bottles thrown at them. I'll se if I can dig out a link to a previous thread with mugshots.

As you know me and Mrs Reb are up for the week-end but I will not be able to stay too late (darn it) as I promised her a visit to the V&A's Hollywood Costume Exhibition. I haven't booked tickets yet and will try to get in on Friday but we don't get into Paddington until about 2.00pm Friday so we maybe pushing it. Subsequently, Saturday afternoon looks the better option.

Now venue for our liquid meet-We often roam around Camden Retro Market when we are up in the capital and have used a couple of pubs and eateries in the area-Trudi reminded me of a nice little pub we used awhile back called the Nags Head in Upper Street-that's of course if its still there (the breweries are closing pubs by the dozen down here). I need to know where we will be quaffing our G/V's & T's as she will come and drag me out screaming to take her to the V&A. Unless of course I tell her the TS show has now amalgamated with Cindys/Tressies/Tiny Tears and Kens ....Now there's an idea but I'll need all your support though.

What I''l do is get up there in next two weeks and get back to you. The pub sounds good, but I'm wondering if the Hilton is right next door it may be easier than everyone walking down into town for those who've not been there before.

It looks like we are getting a broad agreement for our 12.30 meet up as usual, so I'd advise all our motley band to get to show as early as poss as you'll only have one and a half our hours before drinks. (unless you're ealy birding)

So at the mo it sounds like 12.30 in the Hilton, but will advise in next couple of weeks.

Good God. Looks like the film poster for the Usual Suspects.

I tend to wear one lapel at a jaunty angle and one down. Not for recognition you understand, purely because I can't iron very well.

If you find a pool of liquid on the K&C stand then don't worry. There's not a leaky roof. It just means that I have dribbled over the ALH figures.

Glad to some chatter from the cast o' characters that usually attend and bring us the great coverage of the London show, from the pics that was posted earlier of the location looks to be a decent size and a nice looking area, but then again a lemonade stand that was selling toy soldiers would look good to me I look forward to the new reports/pics from the new venue in just a few short weeks...Sammy

I do think WW1 collectors are going to have to supplement their income as we progress towards the centenary! I do think this era is going to mushroom.

Don't worry Sammy, all the usual suspects will be there and reporting as normal, I'm going up to the center in the next four weeks to check out the bar in the Hotel next door to it. There are plenty of pubs nearby but they are further away. We may have to change the time of our meet up too. I think the show starts later in the new venue so maybe will put back meet up time to give the late arrivals a chance to see show before hitting bar.

Hi Rob and all other assorted Treefroggers.....Just thought i would check in and let you know that my ticket is paid for ..The hotel is booked..and my credit card is fully loaded!!!...Soooo i'm
ready for a wonderfull weekend in the Big City. Last time i travelled over with my Daughter, I even took the risk of introducing her to some of you guys in the bar....I must admit i was quite apprehensive after all those Beers/Gin + Tonics and Pints of Orange juice, but you were all perfect Gentlemen!!!!!!!. Anyways this time i am travelling with my charming wife. but she has promised to remove the chains so that i can spend a few happy hours looking at toy soldiers and creating mayhem in the Hilton Hotel....Just do"nt like the sound of Conservative!!!!! is this really the right place for a bunch of toy soldier collecting..Beer swilling misfits as us (or is it as we??) and you can bet the doormans top hat that the barmaid will not have a short black skirt
and will not jump up on the bar to make photo"s of a group of half tipsy toy soldier collectors as we!!!!!. Anyhow let me know how late you guys will be there....9 or 11 and what time in which Bar!!.
