2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (1 Viewer)

Red Sox are on a roll, winners of 8 out of their last 10, within 2 games of the MFY's for first place, it's on to face the LET'S GO O'S!!! in a weekend series in Baltimore.

The LET'S GO O'S!! won 10-4 over the MFY's, hopefully in front of more fans than the 17 who watched them lose last night 8-3.

Seriously, it looked like there were about 17 fans at the game.

Probably Yankee fans.... but I'll take the 2 out of 3 from the evil Yanks any series, 3.5 out as bad as the O's have played this month is pretty unbelievable.

Oh yea, Sox coming to town....wonder who will hit who first???

Back at the big ball yard in Queens. Ain't retirement great!

Miley throws a gem, finally gets a win, and the O's are only 1/2 game back of the Sox. Of course, the Hr derby held by the O's didn't hurt their cause.:wink2: -- Al

Yup, the Baltimore Orioles, living and dying by the home run since Christ was in a Crib.

Edro tripped and fell in the bullpen, he wasn't right tonight, Buck probably had the groundscrew bury a claymore in the bullpen.

Nice to see Dumbo and Crash Davis heat up, I'm sure right as rain they'll both cool off on Monday once the Sox leave town.

Inept offense today. Perhaps I'm bad luck {eek3} Still, nothing like being there.

Perhaps I haven't been paying attention but today the Brewers put on a shift where the 3B moved to short right field when left handed batters were up. Hate to say it but it worked like a charm.

Mr. Met was back yesterday, after having flipped the bird to a customer on Wednesday night. This article in today's Times is quite funny, https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/01/...lights&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=sectionfront

Great article, I needed some laughs. My favorite excerpt:

"Here’s what I suggest. Considering all the abuse I’ve taken on behalf of the Mets over the years, all the high-fives I’ve given to mustard-slathered hands, all the photo-ops in which I couldn’t stop smiling even if I wanted to — and I wanted to, believe me — let’s call it even."

Yes, that was a pretty funny article. Mr. Met is the original mascot and a fan favorite. I can't imagine the Mets without him. After all, who doesn't love Mr. Met?

I don't know if anyone has noticed but the Blue Jays have turned it around and with tonight's win against the Yankees, they are only one game under 500.

Brad, you can be sure that we O's fans have noticed. The AL East is turning into another typical season long dogfight. -- Al

Nats had a good night in Oakland, winning 13-3. It was the 6th time this year they have scored 13+ runs and the third time they have had 20+ hits. The most interesting stat tonight was that the Nats had 9 different men with RBI's. Strasburg went 7 innings for the 8th time in 11 starts (9 QS), winning his 7th game. And, finally, the Nats pitching staff got their season ERA under 4 for the first time this year, which is pretty good considering how bad the bullpen has been for most of the year. -- Al

Al:

I went to check the box score on that one thinking Harper had a huge night only to remember that he is suspended. It is a scary thought for the rest of the NL, they put up those offensive numbers without their best player who might also be the best player in the league.

Jason, our home TV announcers made that same point several times during the game. Bottom line is it is better to have Harper than not have him and last night's game was a fluke as it was the first time since April that they had scored like that. Their offense was pretty average all of May. -- Al

It probably didn't hurt having Strasburg on the mound too.

:smile2:

I hesrd rumors that Harper wants to play for the Cubs.
Read that today on ESPN but no mention off it on the local pre-game or post-game shows and those guys are always tuned into Harper rumors. -- Al

I don't usually play the second-guess game where Buck and the O's are concerned but I have to ask "What was Buck thinking?" by bringing uBADo into a 2-1 game in the 8th inning? He promptly turned a 1-run deficit into a 4-1 deficit. Come on Buck, there is a whole bullpen full of better choices than uBADo. -- Al

Cueto started the season strong but lately he has looked average at best. He struck out 9 today but gave up timely hits when the Phillies had runners in scoring position etc. With Bumgarner out and Samardzija having a terrible season I had hoped that Cueto would anchor the starting pitching staff but so far that has not happened.
