2020-2021 Hot Stove League (2 Viewers)

I would remiss if I didn’t congratulate Mike on the Astros winning the pennant and offering condolences to both George and Doug. The biggest shock for me is seeing the Dodgers eliminated but with all their injuries I suppose it was foreseeable.

I can’t see watching much of the WS. The last thing I want to see, for sure, is the Braves winning. I wouldn’t mind Houston winning, just so Dusty can get a title.

The Dodgers were beaten by the better team in this series. It was not even close. Lucky just to go six games. Home field advantage was huge. The home team was 5-1. The Dodgers had to travel across the country after a wild card and tough five game series. Roberts screwed up the pitching rotation. I think when all was said and done Max only pitched about five innings in the entire NCLS. Incredible. The Dodgers traded away the future of the team on Max and T. Turner and both were no shows in this series. And what a day for LA fans. USC loses to ND, UCLA loses to Oregon, the LA Kings lose, and the Dodgers were eliminated. Thankfully the Lakers didn't play but they are off to a disasterous start. Goff will probably throw 8 TDs today for the Lions to complete the weekend. For what it's worth, I think the Astros win the WS easily. Maybe in five games. I don't plan on watching a second of that because I have zippo interest. But good luck to Big Mike. The Astros are on a roll.

Not much left in this fight for me but honestly I do not care who wins.

Freddie Freemen deserves a ring.

So does Dusty Baker especially after what the Giants did via his tax problems.

Either way, I am watching. ^&grin

Doug, do you think Roberts is on the hot seat? They were decimated with injuries, so maybe he gets a pass? But that said, one WS title in this run, two WS losses, two NLCS losses.

If it were up to you, what would you want to see happen?

This is awesome.

Imagine the Braves are without two of their stars, one of which is a generational talent, yet here they are in the WS, good for them.

The former BOSTON Braves, our NL team, wish they had stayed, but the RS were drawing flies back then, they could barely keep afloat, never mind a second team.

Will be ONE THOUSAND PERCENT behind the Braves, they hustle, steal bases, hit and run, hit for power, have great pitching and a great bullpen.

That stadium was rocking the other night; no pressure on the Braves, heavy underdogs, just keep doing what they've been doing the past few weeks and keep the line moving.

Let's go Braves!!!! After getting ****ed out of the All Star Game wishing the Braves all the luck in the Series as well as the Astros still leaving a bad taste what happened in their last World Series.

Braves take game one easily, 6-2, nice effort last night by Exxon Valdez, quite a performance, he featured two pitches; balls and home runs.....

But on the bright side, they fixed the oil leak on the port side, so he'll be good to go in game 5.

Oh and great news; Jose Greco is going in game three in Atlanta, so I get to see him bat, is he going to go into a soft shoe number prior to every swing, he's got the tango down pat on the mound when he pitches.

Splitting in Houston is key, now win tonight and sweep the leg, Atlanta has their ace going, the Astros have some guy who delivered my pizza last night, man does that guy get around.

Even if Atlanta loses tonight, mission accomplished winning a game in Houston.

Well done Braves.

Morton broke his leg and is done for the series when he got hit by that batted ball; and he still stayed in the game and pitched to four batters.

What balls.

That's a tough break, Braves really need to win tonight.

Oh well.

Series tied 1-1.

I can see Atlanta winning the next 3 and ending it in 5 games and I can see Houston winning the next 3 and doing the same.

Then again I can see it going 7 games.

These teams are evenly matched making this World Series unpredictable.

Sports needs more championships like this.

Seems there is an issue with the new name of the Indians; the Guardians also happens to be the name of the roller derby team from Cleveland.

I remember roller derby used to be on TV every Saturday morning when I was a kid, had no idea it was still a "thing."

Leave it to the Indians; how did they not know the name was already taken?

My God what a broken toilet of a franchise, no wonder they haven't won a WS title in over 60 years.........................

The Indians had filed a TM application so I think they have prior rights although the roller derby team could argue common law rights. Ultimately, I think the Indians will prevail.

In addition, there is no reason both can’t use the name as the likelihood of confusion is extremely low. There are many trademarks that use the same name but operate in different fields of business. That is quite normal. I worked on several deals where we licensed the same TM for use in different fields of business.

They should become the Cleveland "Baseball Team". And then Dandy Dan will sue them. The more amazing thing is that they still have roller derby. Remember the Rachel Welch movie? She should have won an Oscar for that amazing performance. There were at least two things that I really admired about her.

LOL!!

"Kansas City Bomber"..............I remember watching it as a kid.....it was on TCM awhile ago, so I watched it.

Mother of God................the acting was.............something.

Atlanta is on the brink, good for that franchise and the city of Atlanta.

It seems like just yesterday they lost the ability to host the All-Star game. My bet is they’d rather win a World Series, no one can take that away from them.

Got to give the Brave's pitching it's due. They have stopped the Astros cold. Astros scored 7 in the game they won and have scored a total of 4 in the 3 games they have lost. Brave's haven't exactly been an offensive machine but they have been more timely and have scored enough to win. Dusty's title dream is slipping away. -- Al

It seems like every team that beats the Dodgers in the playoffs goes on to win the WS.

while the playoffs were forming the last few weeks...
I honestly hoped Atlanta would beat LA...
I thought they would be an easier opponent than the Dodgers...
regret that now...lol...
I will be congratulating the Brave's fans pretty soon...

Aint over til it’s over.

Combined with the Dawgs, these are heady days for Ga sports fans. That does not usually bode well :)
