2020-2021 Hot Stove League (1 Viewer)

I'm puzzled at whatever genius has scheduled the Dodger games to start after 9PM EST when they played in Atlanta meaning the games ended after midnight but then scheduled yesterday's game at Dodger stadium to begin at 2PM PST on a weekday. Amazing. The players were blinded by the sun for the first five innings of the game. Half the crowd was likely stuck in LA weekday traffic.

Let's not be mean to MLB, they are people too, they are doing the best that they can, it's quite a task to schedule two series going on at the same time.

C'est la Vie, C'est la Guerre, it's all good, let's all be happy baseball is still going on and we can have so much fun watching a game like last night when an umpire that needs a seeing eye dog blows TWENTY ONE calls on balls and strikes.

But hey, at least it did not impact the outcome of the game.

The Astros won the game fair and square, so what if strike three that ended the inning was not called and they went on to score 7 runs and win the game.

These things always even out, I'm sure today the Red Sox will be gifted 7 runs they don't deserve too.

It's all good, let's all hold hands and chant "Baseball been berry berry good to me".......................

OK, who are you and what have you done with George? Do we need to call in the FBI? -- Al

I'm done with new woke George, give me back the old one!! ...George... Pats suck!! You guys stole the Vince Evens AFC Championship game, as he had total control with 2 feet down in end zone 🤬🤬🤬...Red Sox fans are the most obnoxious in baseball!!! ..

You can explode now, it’s ok, I would. With the Braves leading 3-0, the prospects of a Braves Astros WS doesn’t excite me. It would be a question of who I would root against more.

I have little enough interest in the remaining teams with only an interest in individuals, ie., the DC Dodgers (Scherzer, Turner, Treinen, and Souza), and the Astros manager, Dusty Baker. Dodgers in deep poop so it looks like I only have Dusty to root for. And I really HATE all this emphasize on betting/odds and whether the next batter will homer or explode. It really takes away from the game. -- Al

They were up 5-0, but those pesky, never say die, scrappy gang of misfits Dodgers have cut it to 5-2.

IMO, it's only a question of how they blow it for the series to be tied at 2-2.

The Red Sox got completely shut down by a guy who had a big slab of something shiney on his left temple, he kept going to it every time they threw him a new ball....................it looked like sweat, but it was 55 ****ing degrees today in Boston.

It wasn't sweat.

Good for him, whatever advantage you need to pitch 8 innings of one run baseball.

That's two games in a row the corpse of Dusty Baker outmanaged wonderboy Alex Cora, who once again made boneheaded pitching decisions.

The Astros won HFA back and their bullpen is fully rested, their potential starters for games 6 and 7 are three complete stiffs, but if their bullpen pitches like it did the last two games, it won't matter, nor will it matter if the Red Sox bats, that were RED hot two games ago don't wake the **** up.

How they went from tearing the cover off the ball to scoring one ****ing run in 17 innings is why baseball is such an infuriatingly maddening game to watch sometimes.

Were on to Friday night.

I bet Altuve feels 5 feet tall right now.

The home run that midget hit last night turned the whole series around.

Thank Christ for alcohol.

Turner is done, he blew out his hamstring, done for the year.

Braves are dropping the hammer on the Dodgers, 9-2, about to go up 3-1.........

Just like last year.

I've seen this movie before.

Interesting stat; Mookie Betts, Mr Everything for the Dodgers, has 0 home runs, 3 RBI's in 16 LCS games thus far.

He'll probably his 12 in the next three games and they'll build a statue for him in front of Dodgers stadium.

My preferences for the world series;

1.)Sox/Braves...............current and former Boston teams, would not be upset if the Braves won it.

2.)Asteroid strikes the earth.

3.)COVID part 2.

4.) MLB goes bankrupt prior to the series and folds.

5.) Toy soldiers are outlawed and banned in the US from being imported from China.

6.) Astros/Dodgers.

And by "done for the year" you mean one more day. The Dodgers are toast. They have looked tired and uninterested. The starting pitcher rotation got out of whack with the wild card game and the Giants series going the max and Kershaw and Bauer unavailable. How can a team win over 100 games with only two starting pitchers? One of whom they traded for late in the season and the other who was a former relief pitcher? And the offense can't score runs to save their lives. Every player on this team has underperformed in the playoffs with the exception of Bellinger and that's largely because Bellinger had such a terrible season. T. Turner was the batting champ? He doesn't look like he can hit the ball out of the infield. Why do they keep saying Lux is only 23-years old every time he drops a ball or strikes out?

I like #2. Very similar to my earlier request for a comet. It would solve a lot of problems, though I'm sure someone would complain.:rolleyes2: -- Al

I understand the whole concept of "Any given day/that's why they play the games/once the playoffs start, upsets happen"............blah, blah, blah, but to have a 107 win team and a 100 win team get knocked out in the first round and a 106 win team that is gassed bow out stinks.

The Dodgers had a 5 game war with the Giants and it cost them.

Still not over, 3-1 is just that, win today and go from there.

If a comet hit the earth, only small insects and Altuve would survive.

The Dodgers offense finally showed up. Strange series when the aces are getting shelled and the no name guys out of the bullpen are shutting down the opponent. Max should be rested for game 6. The Braves do not want to play another game 7 after being up 3-1.

Chris Taylor had himself a night and even Trea Turner found his bat. Here's hoping Mad Max is on his game and can get to a Game 7. -- Al

Let's go Sox!! Still waiting for karma to return that 3rd strike no call in the 8th in game 4....karma running out of time, and we need a game 7!!

sincere congratulations to Boston and the Red Sox fans...
to make the playoffs...beat the Yankees in a Wild Card game...
then beat Tampa Bay...
you had a great season in my opinion...
