We will have two different figures to choose from for our 2024 Symposium in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania this year, a marching Confederate and WWII U.S. Marine Eugene Sledge. We have a great line up of speakers, and evening dinner, scenic workshop and a tour of the Museum including an operating halftrack. These events are not just for active Collector’s Club members but are opened to everyone that registers, so please consider joining us at this wonderful site.

Hi all, we are packing up everything needed for the Friday workshop at Gettysburg and are really looking forward to seeing everyone there. We will be sure to take pictures during the symposium to post when we get back. This promises to be one of our best yet!

We had a great time at this year’s symposium and the workshop was a blast. I thought I would post a couple of photos to show what a great location this was… The Friday workshop was filled and the attendees were photographed in front of a fully restored and operational M7 Priest. Over 60 members attended on Saturday for the lectures and dinner, and well over a dozen returned for a ride in a fully restored Halftrack on Sunday!

Chris, Henry Sledge, his son and I got a chance to get a close look at the museum’s M4A3E8 on Saturday afternoon after the general tour of the main museum. Folks gather around the perfectly restored M36 in the main display area, and on Sunday Adam gave us an overview of the halftrack pointing out details of construction before he took out three different groups, cross country and down a side road at speed!

It looks like a great time was had by all!

Brendan

My son and I certainly had a great time! Dinner at the Dobbin House Friday with Ken and Erika was a highlight for my family. The events Saturday were amazing! While my wife and daughter tooled around town and the battlefield in a three-wheeled "Getty-Pedi" that went 55 mph, my son and I snuck in a 3-hour battlefield tour with a National Park Service Guide Sunday morning before saying our goodbyes.

Here are some photos from this weekend's symposium, a family dinner at the Dobbin House Tavern (we ate there both Friday and Saturday), my wife and daughter in their Getty-Pedi and on the Battlefield, and some shots of the WWII Museum Collection:

Very cool Louis, congrats. Did you and your son tour the battlefield? Did you find the Whitworth's? CHris

Yes, as always we hired a National Parks Service Guide for a Battlefield Tour, this one focusing on the New York Volunteer Regiments. Is Whitworth's the big toy soldier shop with the triangular parking lot in front? If so, yes.
