Was this necessary? In fact, I did, but couldn´t se the forest for trees! Sorry to have offended you!

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger here. I sent my order to the wrong email also but then again I am to Stupid to read all the instructions also. Well I just resent it per instructions I hope it is received. I am an Old Fart and this Forum is still confusing me. AS YOU WERE.

There were so many rules, regulations, time frames, blah, blah, blah, with this sale I got completely lost. There was nothing I wanted but I did look up a set for a friend who is new to the hobby. I was under the impression these sets were going for around origional retail, well this set, for my friend, was selling at 3 times origional retail, plus shipping from Canada, it would have been cheaper buying from that guy scor----- on ebay!

Serge said from the get go that the prices might not be the best out there. he said he was selling them for WHAT HE PAID for them. I think it's tough to be harsh on a guy selling his collection no matter the cost. He never said "K&C for sale - cheapest prices around"

Personally I think Serge went out of way to make it fair for everyone. I thought it was well organized as this could have easily become a circus had he not put in some structure (rules, timing etc). The only issues occurred when people did not follow his instructions. I thought his shared spreadsheet was an innovative idea. He made it very clear that his price would not necessarily be the lowest but his best price for resale. You also have to factor in discount for purchase size and shipping into the equation as well. My strategy was simply to focus on items that typically do not come up on the secondary market so I would not be haggling over prices or comparing to the gentleman you mention from Florida who advertises in Toy Soldier Magazine

cheers

Although I had my doubts about the process, after having sending Serge my requests, I'm in complete agreement with Zach and Jay. You have to give him a lot of credit for what he's doing and the way he's doing it. I think he's doing it in a way that attempts to be fair to the buyer as well as himself. Some of the prices may not be the best but some are really good. For example, he had the DWT for $100. That is one hell of a price. I'm kicking myself for having missed it when I went through the list because it's gone now, but that's my own fault.

Just curious to know has anyone got their results back. I have not heard a thing but I am not sure if Serge even got my order. I think it went 3 different places in 24 hours and am not sure that any email I sent got through. (DO YOU HEAR ME)

If I understood Serge correctly, he hasn't been collecting for a particularly long time. When he was eventually bitten by the bug, he appears to have gone shopping with considerable abandon. In the course of matters, some sets that he fancied proved to be retired and sold out. He went looking for them and, in some cases, paid more than the original retail price.

Been there, done that.{eek3}

Now, he has decided to move out of KC so as to finance the purchase of new sets from other manufacturers. As part of this effort, he is attempting to recoup his investment in his KC sets. Isn't that what any sane human-being would do in this circumstance? I really can't see raggin' on the man about this. Given the chronology of what he has and when he bought it, I can't see a hint of profiteering in play here. I just feel like the guy is in a bit of a bind, one that a lot of us might find ourselves in someday.

That's all,

-Moe

Oh, and I don't think that Zach was complaining at all. He just happened to be the guy whose post I piggy-backed on.:wink2:

I got a reply to my reply well over half a day later - I was a bit on tenderhooks during that time too. Not to mention getting everything right for the 8.00am 'sharp' start! I had an internet clock rolling and my email typed and my finger on send for 8.00.01 precisely. It was quite stressful! I didn't mind the rules, I appreciated the complexity of it all and I was just grateful for the opportunity to get a bunch of very hard to find figures AND save on shipping. That totally offset the fact that two figures were top-dollar prices BUT two others were brilliant prices! All up I'm thrilled with it the whole deal.

Yes, I think Serge said he had only collected for 4 years so it was an excellent effort to get such an extensive collection, especially of the older figures. I've been collecting for a few years longer and he still had figures I missed by a mile. So yeah, some of his purchase prices were high because figures like these were very hard to come by. I didn't mind matching his expenditure on them. What was extremely impressive was that he didn't bump up the prices of the ones he got at great prices. He could easily have added $20 here, $50 there (or more!) but it seems he didn't. It was a very commendable effort. I guess the only thing left is to have some sympathy that he had to sell his marvellous collection at all.

I have a very important question for you. Are your purchases reflected on the spreadsheet that Serge has posted:

Thanks,

I don't think you have to have sympathy as he said he didn't have to sell but was going to use the money on more toy soldiers.^&grin

Serge,
I have not heard anything about my order and I have talked to others and they got a response fairly quickly. Is It me or did my order go through. A Yes Or No would help me out . I will resend it for a fourth time if need be. Can anybody please verify for me the absolutely correct email to Serge. I would appreciate it. I clicked on the Link on the Thread but have not heard a response.

The email is sergeii99@videotron.ca but I think he must be still going through them and double checking to ensure no double booking of items plus he was likely working today. I got my confirmation last night and shipping details to follow on the weekend.

Howard,

Perhaps he did not hear you even when you you wrote DO YOU HEAR ME in capitals.

Is the term Do you hear me from a TV show or something as I have never seen it used as a "signature" before ?
