I purchased a set of 3D printed miniatures on eBay from a seller in China. I am impressed with how detailed they are and they require very little clean up. I am in the process of painting this miniature, and it is one of nine I'll be painting for a new diorama I'll be creating.

Very nice! I've been wanting to try my hand painting figures but am scared even to try. My old shaky hands would just make a mess of it! :)

You can see where this hobby is heading. Amazing work. Robin.
Thank you, Robin, and yes, 3D printing has come along way in a short period of time. Perhaps the manufacturing of "metal" toy soldiers as we know it might change in the very near future. Although, I have to admit, I like the weight of metal miniatures. It gives me some satisfaction that I'm holding a quality product in my hand. I know this sounds odd, but maybe others understand it.

I started painting 3D printed figures last year and find then very well detailed and they can be scaled up to fit in with others in my collection.

The company I have used, Spiera from Sweden, has many poses that the manufactures do not make, like dead and wounded, so I'm using then as infills with my metals.

these are some I painted.

A great looking figure Mark. Your obvious painting skills however will make it an outstanding looking figure . . .
