Very nice pictures and dio Andrew and I like how you hid the bases.

Hi Andrew,

Wonderful photography and an excellent dio! Lots of great pieces in your collection. Your images are crisp and clear as well.

Some wonderful sets here Andrew. Looks like you had fun setting these out. Excellent series. Robin.

Nice pictures Andrew . Your background reflects perfectly the Dutch plains.
love your dio, no bases visible (which is a very good feature), lots of great Arnhem sets and a very good mix of paras on foot and vehicles, just like the real thing 7 decades ago
guy:)

WoW one amazing diorama you have there!!
I live 50 km from Arnhem and I often went to the commemorations of the Battle of Arnhem.
Thank you for sharing your diorama👍

It is truly unfortunate how “myths” can possibly originate. In one of the comments on this brilliant diorama it states; “Great dio mate such a pity the Arnhem car is so small”. I will not make any assumptions in the interpretation of the comment. The statement either innocuously stipulates the fact that the car is small (which in actuality the real one was), or the inference that it is out of 1:30 scale. Believe it or not the car model depicted of the real vehicle is very close to being precisely 1:30 scale, consistent with both the figures and the Jeeps in the diorama. The “misconception” may have its roots in the past conversion representation (seen on this and other forums) of the same model Citroen Traction Avant 11CV, using the 1:18 scale die cast model by Maisto Diecast Models, converted to represent General Kussins’ staff car. Personally for all parties concerned, felt this needed early “clarification”, and is purely intended as a "constructive observation". Think the the problem is the car 1/30 scale but figures are 1/28 scale and think that what Wayne getting at

This iconic vehicle and associated figures in this set for the MG series, would be my favourite piece to date. The new gun/wounded crew to be released in Feb will be another of my favourites I am sure. Robin.

Thanks for all the likes and comments guys. Appreciated.

The car is one of my favourite pieces from K&C last year and it does it for me. it looks like it wasn't very big from the contemporary photo posted in the thread.

Here's waiting to see what else the range has to offer in 2017.......

Hi Guys, hi Andrew,

Congratulations on a fine-looking display and thanks for utilizing our “Market Garden” figures and vehicles so expertly.
I just hope those Paras know that there might be a bunch of Germans up the road waiting to ambush them !!!
Great to see collectors enjoying their collections.

Best wishes and ... happy collecting.
Andy

I agree with you that the K & C model is closer to correct scale however are you sure about your 1/18 scale assersion. I've seen some members use several different 1/24 scale models from Franklin/Danbury Mint which look too large to me, but other people think they look ok. Same with some members displaying 1/24 tanks with 1/28 figures, I think the tanks look too big, others don't. All in the eye of the beholder as they say.

Very cool, love this series. Really great mix of figures, vehicles and scenery, well done!

Profuse apologies. I don't believe Maistro Diecast Models makes the correct Citroen in 1:24, but Bburago certainly does (2 different models). Obviously my recollection of both manufacturer and scale was in error. 1:24 would be far more logical than 1:18 scale. Have previously indicated I'm not a dioramist, and this just serves to illustrate why. Not only why, but why I hesitate to become involved in these discussions. Unfortunately in my mind the whole arena of "scale" in "toy soldiers" has rapidly become analogous to the minefield of restrikes and fakes of British Army cap badges. You might possibly be interested in the following article I wrote in my blog page; http://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2014/06/its-all-matter-of-scale.html .
