First time posting on this forum. This is a 50 sq ft diorama (ALL K&C) based on the movie "Saving Private Ryan". It has 200+ US GI's and German troops, 6 landing craft, and a dozen + K&C vehicles, bunkers and artillery pieces. I used Home Depot pink insulation foam board for the base, and german positions, including the large central bunker. The water is Liquidtex Heavy acrylic gel. I also re-sculpted 2 dozen dead K&C Germans, refitted and repainted them with GI equipment, and uniforms for the dead GI's on the beach and in the surf. The whole project took about 5 months, and will be featured in the next Toy Soldier and Figure magazine.

Wow!! I might be mistaken, but this is the biggest D-Day diorama I've seen on this forum using only K&C figures and AFV's. Congratulations!

This is tremendous, an outstanding effort, thanks for sharing your work with us, just brilliant.

Truly amazing. This is how a epic iconic battle should be portrayed. So well done, a real credit to you. Only thing better would be if one could see it first hand.:salute::, Robin.

Ps saving the photos to my iPad for future reference.

Really like the way you have breached the sea wall, formed the explosion in the sea and submerged the tank. Reckon you could use a few more sets of K&C latest DD317 to add more GI's hit on the beach. Otherwise you have nailed it and no doubt you are thrilled with what you have achieved. Robin.

That's incredible! Thanks for sharing.

Brendan

fantastic !!!!! can you not hide the bases of the figures storming the beach under a bit of sand ? Would be even more fantastic !!!!

Thanks Robin-The explosions in the sea were made by gluing several old plastic sprues from model kits together, then covering with white acrylic caulking and painting. The ground explosions are cheap tea lights (every craft store has them), Hot gluing cotton to them and spray painting them black and grey-the lights inside flash, so gives a cool explosion look. As the batteries are small, only turn them on when you have viewers.....:)
