John Jenkins produces the best detailed WW1 French soldiers I have seen for a long time...now that they came out with this great 75.....to make things perfect they should provide not only a garrison pulling the gun but also one manning the gun in action.....that would be a baster of great set...
Cheers

Nothing special.
Most of the photos are taken after dark as that is when I have the time.
There is a lot of lighting in the room and I use two LED floods, not made for photography but just floods.
While I have a Nikon D750 I only use it at the track on track days. I do track days at Daytona and Sebring with my Abarth.
The camera I use here is a 16 year old Nikon Coolpix 3MP. It has a very sharp lens and the processing algorithm within the camera produces a very good photo for a point and shoot. The lens swivels so makes it easy to take photos at TS scale eye level.
I never use a flash. So any shading or dark areas are just areas receiving less light.
Many thanks for the Spad photo and the description of the red shade. It is info I needed to help me decide whether to get it or not. The JJD photos looked really orange, which I didn't care for, so your comparison to the red Fokker was invaluable, along with the fuselage photo. The Spad will go on my 'get' list. -- Al
Looks kinda like the light reflected off of the wings and turned the shelving a kind of camo green. Of course, the surroundings then impact the color of the fuselage.
Probably ought to post this to the "photography thread," but here's an example of what reflected light can do to the colors in a pic:
True, the Rickenbacker model does have some green in it. But the reflection off of the wings has turned the "tan" a funky green as well. Also, the shelf beneath the model should be about as "white as rice."
Exposition of my ham-handed imaging completed, I have to add that JJD's promotional pics could stand an upgrade. The company makes some beautiful models, but the pics RARELY do them justice. Collectors want to see what it is that they are considering for their collections, agreed?
