Love those French WW1 prints. I think the large one, the assault on Vermelles, is done by Georges Blond. The other could be Fleming. -- Al

Thanks Mike for bringing me along for a last look of Ed's collection with your photos an comments. The time an effort spent in doing so is really appreciated.........Joe:salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::

I agree Al, those are great prints. I will differ to your expertise as to who the artists are.

You're welcome, Joe. Although it is not the same as seeing it in person, it is probably the next best thing.

Mike

More prints. This Lionel dealer display is the only thing in his office that Ed said he will not sell. It lights up and has three little trains that go around the tracks.

Indian Army prints. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th photos are from a Swiss military museum brochure of a painting of a panorama in-the-round of a French Army surrendering to the Swiss during the Franco-Prussian War. The railway boxcar in the 3rd photo is an actual RR car which gives you some idea as to how large this panorama actually is; the others are painted. More toy soldier displays.

The last ones from his office. There were more, but I didn't photograph them all.

Wow! Slowly going through the threads. This collection, displays and militaria are amazing and a great inspiration for recent recruits to this hobby. Thanks for sharing and posting all the beautiful photos. Wow. Dan.

Mike, is Ed going to have any more open houses?

Walt

Walt,

Unfortunately, I don't think so. I spoke to him two days ago; he is recovering from major surgery. He has been selling his collection to his friends, sort of a right of first refusal, before he places the balance of it up for sale to the general toy collecting public.

Mike

Thanks Mike what a superb collection so brilliantly displayed,he has a great looking house and art display and hope all is well after his surgery.

Mike, please tell him I wish him all the best. I hope he makes a full recovery and enjoy and has many more years to enjoy life.

Thanks Wayne. It is truly a one-of-kind collection. So far so good on his recovery.
