Ahh, happiness!!!! I love the Panther without the side armor!

It looks great and I can't wait for it.

:salute::

The Panther looks nice but that green color they chose is horrendous!

The green from the recent Jagdpanther and Panzer IV H was much more historically accurate. Why the switch back to this pastel green color on the Panther and recent Hanomag? Makes no sense. The dunkelgelb looks OK but the green is horrible. Same problem on Jagdtiger.

Hopefully they will release a winter version, as this summer one loses me on the paint job.

I'm also curious why they sculpted the Panther with mixed dished wheels and steel roadwheels at the last two stations? I've seen a picture of a Bulge Panther that was sporting mixed types of roadwheels, so it is feasible, but still seems and odd choice.

I like the mixed road wheels very realistic, the paint job looks good i reckon faded, worn and weathered.

A handful of Panther Ausf G tank's built in early 1945 featured steel rimmed road wheels mixed in with their rubber rimmed road wheels. I cant remember which book I read this from....but it looks to be pretty accurate model for late war panther G.

The figures are very nice: nice poses, nice weathering.
About the panther, I prefer what made CS.Actually the KC one looks very similar to the CS tank. But The CS one has better tracks...

Late in the war mixed wheels were not uncommon. And as paint supplies ran out, camo colours went off standards. My only complaint is K&C reluctance to put sideskirts on at least some of the appropriate AFVs specifically Panthers, Stugs and Panzer IV. I know it would add to the cost and possibly be more prone to damage, but why not at least some versions with sideskirts. Even AFVs with a rail to hang detachable sideskirts on.

Phantom,

The mixed road wheels I can live with, as I said in my original post I know that configuration occurred, and I can even live with the camo pattern not being a factory applied standard one (with the late war paint supply excuse) but that green color is just wrong.

Why switch to this color when K&C had a very good looking/historically accurate shade of olivegrun on the Jagdpanther and Panzer IV? King and Country deliberately chose to make the switch and make the paint jobs look less accurate by going this way, and I'm curious why? This shade of dunkelgelb with the old shade of olivegrun from the Jagdpanther would have made for an outstanding model.

Personally, though, it would seem just as easy to turn out a Panther with an accurate paint scheme. Just seems lazy on King and Country's part to me. It significantly detracts from an otherwise great looking and accurately modeled Panther G.

Oh well, guess I'll just wait for the whitewashed version.

And completely agree they could have added a few panels of schurzen. The Panthers schurzen sat very close to the hull, so they could have made the panels integral to the sculpt and not have to worry about breakage (like on the old Honour Bound Panthers and the WS072 Panther).

Hunter i see what you are saying about the paint, i am going to have one of my jagdpanthers repainted. But i will suggest before you write this panther off that you wait to see it in person. Sometimes the pictures don't do a vehicle justice. The panther does look like it is well made.. I know that there are some people that do some great repaints so you could always go that route. I would like to get my elefant repainted also in that classic tan and green eastern front pattern.

I'm still content with my old WS072 Panther. The only way I'd consider upgrading would be if a new Panther were released in an ambush camo pattern with schurzen. Given space and budget contraints I wouldn't have more than one Panther in my collection. The new Panther looks great and I like the paint colour and the road wheel details but its not a piece that will fit my collection. ^&cool

WS072 is still the best K&C Panther IMO

Good points made ! If any part was needed and would properly fit, it was used ! Features such as this make the model stand out and give it its own distinction. To me for a late war Panther having a mixed road wheel or two thrown in is another example of thinking outside of the box for K&C. Nice group of German Infantry without bases =Versatility ^&grin
The Germans with the helmet covers look like they are straight out of a "Stalingrad" street battle !

All hatches opened, has side armor and stuffed with tank crews and spare wheels.... I totally agree :salute::

The green is accurate too. Sorry, couldn't resist.:salute::

WS076 was a great classic set, but definitely shows its age. The sculpt is lacking a lot of detail compared to recent AFVs. What I'd like to see K&C do is an updated WS072. Basically the exact same configuration of WS072, just with the detail of the current tanks and the paint colors of the Jagdpanther/Panzer IV. That Panther would have been a homerun. Call it WS072SL2014
