Anyone notice there seems to be a little more love:) and understanding on the forum these days??? don't know if it was because of Rob's thread last week, or the mods watching a little closer on discussions, but I'm all for seeing things much more relaxed in discussions and bantor back and forth, let's keep it up up guys, were doing great:):)..A+ for the whole class!!!...Sammy

I've noticed it's much nicer Sammy. Folks are just talking again with little argument which is good to see. K&C fans talking about Dispatches FL fans have their ra ra thread it's all good! .

I think this is what Peter and Shannon had in mind when they created this Forum. Although I'm committed to K&C, I have sizable collections in Figarti, Imperial, New Model Army, Conte, St. Petersburg Spartans, Wm Britains, Little Legion , Corgi and others. I think if everyone respects the fact that collectors buy these things for various reasons I think this forum will continue to be the best Forum for this hobby of ours. Learn and be helpful.
 
Wayne is right nothing controversial has occured and everyone will try to be on their best behaviour for a while. leopards rarely change their spots and there is indeed a lot of leopards on here. wonder how it will go when another ricket is found in design accuracy or paint colour?? and people want to maturally talk about them which, applies to all manufacturers thats the test when things go wrong. It does seem that several have just raised their issues on the canadian site !!!!

I do hope it lasts, to be honest I'm too tired to argue anymore and if it happens again I'm staying out of it. I just went onto the Canada forum for the first time in ages and just didn't feel I could join in as lots of long feuds are still boiling over. I get on with and respect many people who collect both K&C and FL and couldn't see how anything I'd say wouldn't upset someone or other:redface2:

There is no doubt the forum is much more calm and friendly right now and it makes it much more enjoyable, I look forward to the dispatches debate next week and all points raised positive and negative are equally valid in a calm and respectful manner. As for the Canada forum, yes there are many folk who don't like K&C that much so I don't post there, but I must say I do not suspect anybody's , how shall I say this , ' sympathies' over there.

As this is nothing new then it would seem no is the answer. Having spoken with many people about this and looked back at some of the dust downs pointed out to me in the years gone by its regularity should not amaze anyone who has recently spoken about how bad it allegedly is nowadays

I don't see where some of the fall outs come from, I think a lot of it is misreading someone's thoughts and intentions on a forum as perhaps they might not in real life.

It's a shame about the other forum, I used to post there and although I got on with many people there and they were never rude to me, when I returned recently there were so many threads criticising one producer that it didn't seem a relaxing place to be. Even the threads on that particular producers area are anti, I felt to post anything other than negativity or insults would look absurd in a sea of hostility so I've left. I will do any thing I can to prevent that happening here. If anyone has a legitimate critique or complaint and it's done in a respectful way then it's to be
welcomed. Theres room for all producers and collectors here.

You cannot really not understand where the arguments derive from surely??? you have been in the thick of a lot of them in the time I have been on here from the blitz to haig and everything in between.

It simply comes from specific wind up's to disagreements about historical representations and, errors in the manufacturers products and, as I said it will continue to be so

the canadian forum does not seem to have as many arguments but, then again it seems that with no moderation as such, one can say what one wants. I do think that it continues the debate from where its stopped on here.

Yes I've been in a few Mitch, quite a few of us have I think. But for me its never personal and I'd much rather someone tell me they think I'm wrong and we agree to disagree rather than harbour ill feeling over a disagreement. I still think that much as the internet is a wonderful thing, misunderstandings and misreading of people is a big draw back.

Also I fully agree re Canada, there are hardly any arguments at all, its just that if you are positive about one particular producer you are pretty much alone and threads don't seem to get answered, you are kind of on your own. But hey it was founded as a sort of counterpoint to TF and its K&C orientated focus so thats probably natural, and as I say I get on well with many there, its just not for me.

I don't take anything personal on here and, I have had a few rather childish insults aimed at me. Water of a ducks back.

I don't really get the canadian site as its just the same old faces from here give or take some disgruntled members. I could not think of anything different to say there than I do on here

We can only respond to what the manufacturers produce or say!!!!!
