A question of scale. (1 Viewer)

Looks about right to me mate, you just need to whip the truck to John's joint and ask him to weather it up for ya!

Tom

I assume the truck is 1/32 scale, but it looks fine, as I was told by a good friend if it looks OK then it is.

I reckon the truck might be 1:24 scale but Wayne will clarify that.

Tom

Did you build it mate?

It reads “Freiwillige Feuerwehr Erding“ on it. Erding is a Munich suburb. The engines are the pride of the voluntary fire brigades and are washed by the members every other day. I think the curriculum of these associations is training, cleaning the engine and drinking.

Dirt on this engine would hence be highly unrealistic. But you need to accessorize it with any beer related items, though. The beer from Erding is one of my favorites, especially the Weißbier.

Yeah, fair enough, perhaps just a light paint feathering over the wheels Wayno as I doubt the firies could keep the wheels clean when they are out and about.

I've drunk that at the little German butcher shop I worked in.

I had an exchange student from Erding, and spent a few months there in high school.

Wayne, scale wise it looks just fine for me. As for the weathering, I think it's intierly a mater of each one's taste; considering what's posted below, if it were me I would just weather the tires/wheels to put it in a scene.

Well, the builder did a great job with it, with that gloss finish. I thought at first sight that that was a die-cast collectible, possibly even commissioned and sold or distributed through the Erding Volunteer Fire Department itself. I'd leave it as is, too.

As far as the beer goes, Erdinger Weisse is very good-the brewery specializes in wheat beers-but I prefer Franziskaner, myself. That's my favorite.

Prost!

Here is a photo of the fire truck with 2 men in the shot. One is slumping but they should give an idea of size.

And here is a video of the truck on the road.

I agree mate, it looks good in an Army colour so I may buy one and paint in a grey or the colour in Terry's pic's and then weather the buggery out of it! I have also seen standard German Army Opel truck kits in 1:24 scale so maybe i'll do the same with one or two of them as well. Much cheaper than buying those pre made polystone trucks and the detail is much better.
