A scene depicting RAAF ground crew personnel working on the Spitfire Mk VIII flown by Fred Inger of No. 80 Wing, No. 457 Squadron, RAAF, in April 1945 while based on Morotai Island. Fred Inger and his C/O, Wing Commander Bobby Gibbes, are depicted as well. A section of JG Miniatures “Sand and Grass” terrain matting and some Thomas Gunn products round out the scene.

My display is based on one of John’s old promo photos and seems a fitting tribute to an oft-forgotten unit and battlefield in the Pacific War.

In case one can’t tell, I’ve been on a little bit of a JJD WWII aircraft trip as of late 😉

Great scene Tristan, I have those Three Aussies working on the Killer Caldwell version in my WW2 Pacific display. JJD issued some terrific sets, usually in limited numbers, I was lucky to recently get hold of a lot of old JJD sets from Two Aussie dealers, it's amazing what you can find if you take the time to look.
