A small W. Britain display (1 Viewer)

Nice display. I noticed a great resource in your collection of books... Wellington's Army, a selection of drawings by Charles Hamilton Smith. These plates were drawn from life by the artist, a British officer and completed in 1814. Additional military plates were drawn later including one of American Infantry.
All the Best!

Thanks Ken and Britfarmer, that book is one of my favourites.. really informative and its size is ..huge!!!..i have a Napoleonic shelf too with great books , unfortunately the best i own i cannot display because it doesn't fit in the shelf ..is "With Napoleon in Russia: The Illustrated Memoirs of Major Faber du Faur 1812"..always from the famous publishers of Greenhill Books (the same of Wellington's Army).Soon i'll post some pics!:)

Hi Cantinetozzo,
In the second photograph, there are two soldiers with gray bases. Who made these soldiers?
I particularly, like the one with his gray coat on his shoulders.
Thanks
Benjamin

Those are Alexanders Toy Soldiers Guardsmen after Inkermann. He makes a whole series of around 20 or so of these based on a painting I believe. They have been available for a pretty good price in the past if you are interested.

Nice display...
I lived in Monroe Michigan for years and the Custer monument was in plain view a 1/4 of a block away from my front door on Elm Street. The monument was created with support from his wife Libby and erected on the town square in 1910. Like many smaller towns, traffic patterns changed and some years later it was moved to it's current location that has higher visibility to automobile traffic.

A good thread with very nice displays. Thanks for sharing guys and to Ken for getting the ball rolling. Given me a few ideas (ie need to get some flags).

Good stuff!
I was straightening up the house the other day and I realized that I need to round up my figures into at least one area of the house. They seem to be everywhere. In the china cabinet, on the piano, on the server, on the mantel, in the curio cabinet, on the bookshelves... well you get the idea.

The real problem is when I do photography. I drag out groupings and then just move the grouping to some relatively unoccupied space. this means that these little guys are mixed in with my antique china and my books.

I plan on rearranging one of my dedicated display cabinets if I ever get the time, and when I do I will try to post some pictures.

All the Best!

I think you all can recognized the two Britains 54mm and the other
items. Helmet plate, collar insignia, medals. The large figure [12 1/4"]
I don't know the manufacturer. No marks. It came from a shop
in a Piccadilly Circus some years ago. Well painted and very heavy.
Shop Owner didn't know either. I was going to add a 110mm Stadden
[HP034] 24th Foot, but it got a bit much.
