Hunkering down for a bitter cold next couple of days. Air temps are supposed to get as low as -35F with windchills as much as -50F. Local school districts have already closed school for tomorrow. Thought I would spend some time with my dismounted Union cavalry in anticipation of new reinforcement arrivals this week, WB #31216 "Union Cavalry Trooper Dismounted Standing Loading" & #31218 "Union Cavalry Trooper Dismounted Charging".

Wonderful depiction of one of Buford's outposts Mike, and beautifully photographed. I can't capture the lighting effects like you have done. Great scene. Chris

Spending sometime with my dismounted Yankee cavalry this morning. WB #31216 & #31218 arrived here yesterday to reinforce the group.

Thanks again for all the "Likes"

With all those Rebs coming, that group of Union cavalry now has a kind of Fort Apache feel!

That's why we need more cavalry figures . . . . they are a bit outgunned aren't they . . . . .

Excellent. Where do you get those great backgrounds?

The first two photos were taken with the figures arranged on WB #DISP10 which was made by Ken & Ericka Osen (Hudson & Allen) for resale by W. Britain. It is the display base that was designed for the "Chosen Ground" Art of War series sets #31051, 31073, & 31074. The last two photos are actually of Seminary Ridge at Gettysburg. The photo was taken by either Ken or Ericka which was then professionally enlarged and printed using clay based pigments so that it wouldn't fade. The photo is mounted on 1/4-inch foam board and is very versatile. I purchased it form Ken & Erica at a Chicgo OTSN show a couple of years ago.

Mike,
That looks great, like the reverse angle shot the best; Buford, Calef and "Uncle Tommy" deserve a lot of credit for the way they held up the Confederates until the 1st and 11th Corps arrived on the field.

Glad I tuned back in to this thread to see more outstanding scenes. Chirs
