ACW041-ACW062 Confederate 13th Alabama Infantry (2 Viewers)

It continues to amaze me that we keep going down this silly road :(

Well not another word from me Brad. :smile2:

I always think casualty figures add so much to a scene, this is a splendid figure in that its understated, he's not throwing his hands up as often depicted but just starting to crumple.

I don't collect any FL yet but IMO all their ranges are strong. It just depends in what era of history interest you the most.

Well said...A view based on clear obseravtions of the visual evidence.

Hey Frank,

No I don't own any ACW FL figures as yet, but seeing them three times a year in London and in various dio's on here I know how good they are. My posts were certainly not meant to say that only the ACW are a good range, several of their other ranges also look very good to me . Perhaps I should have said that out of all of FL's ranges ACW is my personal favourite, I have an interest in the ACW that has been steadily growing over the years despite the fact that I am a dyed in the wool WW1/WW2 guy. Am very glad you are happy in what you collect Frank as that's all we really want in our hobby isn't it, otherwise whats the point! ^&grin

All the best and have a good thanksgiving!

Rob

Hi Rob, I'm just glad to see opinions from other collectors of what they think of the First Legion ACW range, and I do agree with you as well it is a very good range, I really want to start collecting it, but funds at the moment can only go to one love (WWII) not to say 2013 may bring me into ACW, and if Matt & co. need a unit for design I think the Sharpshooters of the Virginia 55th would do nicely :) (plug for me relative) but I do believe I will be in this range sooner then later!!...Sammy

Exactly my situation Sammy. But after Christmas it looks like I'll finally be able to kick start my ACW collection. I must say I'm really excited because not only will it be a departure for me in era of history (the ACW is a fascinating conflict) but also in terms of collecting strategy. You see my two main collections WW1 and WW2 are both mainly made up of one producer WW1- Toy Army Workshop and WW2 K&C (with some Figarti). But with the ACW Bob has shown me how you can blend different producers, so I'll be buying figures for the collection from five different producers; Britains, FL, K&C, Conte and Collectors showcase.

So watch this space mate:wink2:

Its true Gebs I have been threatening for years haven't I, but I do believe this time I mean it by jingo! You see the ACW has crept up on me over a long period of time helped along by Bobs dios and the articles Brad posts etc. This won't come as a surprise to you but when it comes to not mixing my figures I'm a tad anal about it!^&grin:wink2: But the idea of mixing them in a whole different era is pretty exciting . When it comes to FL 's part in the mix I like both Buford's dismounted boys and the Rebs, but I think the Rebs will be more versatile for my dio's ( I'm afraid Bob is in a waaaay different league to me when it comes to dio skill).

So to start I'm gathering dead and wounded figures as I think these are just essential, I recently got a splendid CS set of these, I will also pick up a couple in London next week and then my first FL purchases will be the dead and the wounded figures. I'm afraid I'm no big spender so will probably be buying them in pairs.

Gebs, I can imagine one or two people won't believe it until they see it I guess, but when they do they may choke on their cornflakes:wink2:

Cheers

Rob
