Ordinarily I'd agree with those who say "what's the big deal, just don't read them," and I'd skip over them if I were a buyer. However, I decided to post a few things for sale and with the amount of postings that we're getting from him, it crowds things out.

The purpose is for collectors to be able to sell to other collectors, not dealers. What if every dealer came on here and started doing it? It defeats the purpose.

I know one thing you cant argue with he is ALOT cheaper than some of the "Collectors" offerings.

Personally I check out the Collector Classifieds everyday, and I always read the discussed adds with great interest!

As a relative newcomer to this forum (and the Hobby), I can only stress how much of a pleasure it has been to obtain figures from Stan. He has on occasion really gone out of his way to help me out, and I consider him a true gentleman!

Great, here is how I see it, there are lots of other Great Dealers out there such as George from Minuteman, and Bill Sager (who's wonderful site has helped many of us). Many other dealers who regularly contribute to the Forum along with our hosts who pay for the Forum!

None of these other dealers flood us with their ads.......not even our hosts.

We have read several comments where collectors have said they bought items from this dealer with money that would have gone to Treefrog, thus costing our hosts business.

I know they have said they are ok with that.

I know quite a few people just love this dealer.

Personally, I think his frequent ads are in poor taste, and I wouldn't buy
anything from him under any circumstances!

Not even if he had the Sham-Wow fellow personally call me to tell me that he would send me extra sets (and he can't do this all day) + free shipping.....

Doesn't anyone see how unfair this is to all the other dealers that exercise a
little self control?

I hope a few of them take note of all the "support" some people are giving this dealer......and take that into consideration when they are contacted by some of these same folks.:D

A bit of a broken record on this to say the least. You are entitled to your opinion but it is a tempest in a teapot to me. Given that this hobby has to meet a budget, like any other, I am quite pleased to have found some things from Stan that were either out of production or cheaper than I could find them elsewhere. I also buy from George and I have bought from TF and if they are fine with this that should be good enough for the rest of us. You are starting to sound like someone from a political party that is quite different than the one I think you favor; let the market choose.:) And if any dealer wants to hold that against me, they are welcome but needn't worry about me bothering them after that.

.....................................................................................................

Ah yes, when someone agrees with this dealer and praises him its ok.

Someone disagrees, and its a bit of a broken record, how interesting.

I have no problem with those that support him, and reserve the right to

state my opinion, and frankly would be quite suprised if you ever agreed.:D

Stan doesn't compete with TF and he donates to charities as his way of contribution for being allowed to advertise on the forum.

At the end of the day it is PETER & SHANNONS FORUM, IF THEY HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!

Once again I have to agree with the delegation from NJ. I'm assuming that the main reason this board was started in the first place was for TF to promote and drive business to their website, which does not make this board a free market. Since they pay the rent and do all of the work. To me this would be the same as if you owned a store and your competition down the street came into your store and set up a sales display right in the middle of your store. Just my opinion.

Well this guy from Jersey doesn't have a problem with it.There's only 3 or 4 of you that have a problem with it which in itself should tell you something. It is the Reuss's forum and if they don't have a problem with it no one else should.Don't you have anything else to complain about.Something tells me you probably do.:D;)

.....................................................................................................

Lets be reasonable here, as you say 3 or 4 of us seem to have a problem with it......so why not simply allow us to express our opinions?

I don't recall any of us being critical of those that support this dealer..... so why can't we simply express our opinion without the criticism?

Its simply a form of attacking anyone that dares to have a different point of view, which is silly.

As far as it being Treefrog's Forum...........well I guess we can all pretty much accept that fact.:) That being said, what is wrong with a few members

speaking about something they find annoying.

We are not demanding anything be done, simply expressing our opinion. The Forum will handle the matter as they see fit.

I think some of the members should perhaps practice a little tolerance. Everyone is certainly entittled to their own opinion.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me, and I cannot be deterred from my point of view once I have considered the situation.:D

Oh good Lord. Not this again.

In a way, complaining about somebody in the third person in public while he is reading along, shows a certain level of disrespect that many of us find unsettling. Perhaps a person to person discussion via PM's would be a better way to air your concerns with Stan's ads.

I simply cannot imagine getting away with starting such a thread to bash another forum member in this fashion.

Hasn't this issue been resolved buy THE OWNERS OF THIS SITE? Some want to express there annoyance with all the ads from a particular dealer. I can only guess that the people who are annoyed want it to be stopped. THE OWNERS OF THE SITE say its OK. What part of "it is what it is" don't some people understand. It is a very simple, those who don't like the ads will not buy from him, those who don't mind the ads will buy.

I think everyone should run over to the K&C "Dispatches are up" thread and re-read if needed and pretend this thread never exsisted? I vote to delete it...for the sake of the forum as a whole!

................................................................................................

Tolerance people, tolerance!:)

First of all we often discuss topics more then one time when different people

chose to bring them up.:)

In this case I posted a thread on this topic when I grew tired of seeing ad

after ad by the same dealer every time I hit the New Posts link.

Its true it was discussed, but this time another senior forum member decided

to start his own thread on the subject........is he not allowed to

express his opinion?

It seems its perfectly ok for this dealers supporters to sing his praises

(which I am ok with).........but the moment one or two of us choose to post

our point of view........well the same old crowd jumps in and calls us out for

simply expressing our opinion!:D

Everyone is free to start a thread, and post a comment to an existing thread

I respect that, and would hope that others would give the same respect to

members who have a different point of view!

In any group there are those that speak up, and those that share similar

views but do not wish to be attacked.

I'm the guy that respectifully speaks my mind, reguardless of the situation,

like it or not its part of my DNA.:)

Reguardless of anyone particular opinion, I just noticed that this thread has

received a 5 Star Ratings.

So it would appear that it has proved interesting to more then a few readers.

I have not rated it myself, so the ratings has nothing to do with me.:)

Best thing is have a poll to see who happy with his ads & who not , then we can put this to bed

Its fine to speak ones mind nobody really could argue with that for that is what the site is about however, it seems that growing tired of certain sections of the forum means that one should not discuss or comment if it tires sections of this site.

I am still trying to see what the actual threads did to cause disruption and not knowing Stan from Adam I can state that it certainly did not cause any offence or annoyance to me (all I can really speak for) but, train wrecking threads seems a common thread lately and, it always ends in deletions which, is sad as it defeats the point of the site and, it allows the tiresome brigade to be able to have their own way and thats, IMO even sadder.

Someone post something for sale so normality can return to this thread before its gone

Sadly, knowing that Stan takes things to heart he will probably post less not wanting to offend anyone. All because it offends 3 or 4 guys.I have not bought anything from him but I will say to Stan keep posting.Stan has hard to get items and there are a lot of other shops without websites who has retired sets that I wish would post here also.

marco55...

See, thats exactly my point its wrong that someone should be put in this position because some believe they have the right to rule the way this site plods along. Seen many posts deleted for nothing really apart from offending the few but, this should be taken into account before people are censored or restricted on here.
I hope Stan does not restrict his posts and posts his allotted alocation per day.

Ok guys I know this sounds about a hundred light years too late, but does Stan have a website?

Rob

Hi Rob - No he doeasn't.

That said...this horse has been whipped a wee bit too long. I can't imaging an argument on any side which hasn't come our yet...so we're closing this thread and moving on.
