Got to have La Valette for Malta!

What is the best book on the siege of Malta? I know almost nothing about it. Looks interesting.

I have just done some statistics on the 25 Advent Calendar sketches from this year.

  • 12 or 48% are from North America
  • 9 or 36% are from Europe
  • 4 or 16% are from Asia

The range that features with the most is 'The Fur Trade' with 9 or 36% of all the sketches.

There are 2 new ranges coming both from Asia,

3rd Carnatic War in India 1760
1st Anglo Afghan War in Afghanistan 1842

Interesting to see what is going on this coming year and that John's market seems to be North American,
but really glad he is branching in into other eras and wars that have shaped history, like to two new on the on the Sub-Continent

John

I am excited to see more Samarui type figures and Mongol opponents, Janissary figures and late Acw figures. The Union Cavalry figure is 1864 so its not 1st Bull Run.

Keen on seeing the offerings on the 1st Anglo Afghan War in Afghanistan 1842, especially the Afghan fighters as they would be great complements to my Little Victorian Wars series .....
Cheers

Carnatic Wars have always been fascinating to me. Wonder where the range will go...

Cheers, i agree, not a collector of anything US related from John [except the WW2 Corsairs and carrier crews], but looking at releases over the past few years from John, there has been a lot of 'non-US' themed. Lots and lots of Normans/Saxons/Viking, Romans and Rome's Enemies, Crusaders etc, Trojans to name just some. Fare enough these are of interest to collectors whereever they live or are from, but there has been an upturn in US themed releases from John recently, but these things come in cycles and there is plenty for me to buying. i was just going through my collection and to 'bring it upto date' i would have to spend over £7500, so there is enough to be going on with. The new Fur Trade stuff is incredible and i am so glad i never jumped onto one their wagons and started buying, but come those 6 lottery numbers and i will be jumping on wagon.
