Wednesday, December 21st
French Cipaye, French Army
The Battle of Wandiwash, 22 Jan 1760
The Third Carnatic War, 1758-1763
The Third Carnatic War was one of the series of wars fought in the middle of the 18th century in the coastal Carnatic region. It was fought between the British and the French from 1758 – 1763. Between 1740 to 1763, three Carnatic Wars took place. The French wanted to capture the fort of Wandiwash which was opposed by the British and led to the battle of Wandiwash.

WOW !! this looks like another series that I will be collecting after Wellington in India.

My main interest is 7 Years War and Napoleonic and John has come up with yet another battle in that time period, so I have finally found something in this year's Advent Calendar to excite me

Very interesting!
A period of History I have always enjoyed reading about.
Looking forward to seeing John do it right.

Siege of Malta Janissary and Yuan Bomb-Throwers are the only sure buys... so far...
Nice Advent Calendar again!
Happy Collecting
Paddy

I would almost concur. With two you indicated I would agree with you and add the French Cipaye. Been a good calendar for those collecting the fur trade range.

Nice to see future releases, only 4 new sets for me in the advent calendar, but great to see the other stuff as well. When comparing the previous annual Advent Calendars these are just a taster of what will be out, looking forward to some new Trojan War, WW2 and a great year would be some new Jacobite figures and Rome's Enemies.

One thing i do know is 2023 will be a great year for releases from JJD.

And the last two are up. A war elephant and what appears to be a new series - the First Anglo-Afghan War.

Merry Christmas all. I think John did a great job this year giving something for everyone to look forward to.

Plenty of future releases to whet our appetites, I can see myself and others succumbing to these temptations !

Well done and thanks to Mike and Robin for bring them to this forum !

On my wish list from John this year was seeing the sketch of Jean Parisot de la Valette first shown of Facebook. This is a just wonderful as I want to have a small display of him with a few of his defenders on my bookshelf.

Thank you John. Merry Christmas to you all!

Best wishes,
Grey

Most interesting see yet another new series from the 'Sub-Continent'

This time it is the Last Stand at Gandamak, another of the victories for the Afghan people, like others victories that have also happen in the following 180 years as they have driven the foreign invaders out of their country!!!!!

I wonder if the current sets of Arabs from Wellington in India will be suitable as the Pathans in this sets?

YES! The Carthaginian Elephant looks fantastic. . . and the "Battle of Zama" heading is so encouraging. We might see the Carthaginian light troops and even the Spanish/Iberians after all. What a great Christmas present!

Happy holidays!
Chris

Hi John,
I had the same idea...I have been closely looking at the set of arab mercenaries with muskets....of the whole series I would say these are the best ones to double up as Pathans...given that actual Pathans are in little to no supply other than the meager offerings from Little Legion...
Cheers
