An aerial view of the deck activity on my USS Bunker Hill display. A Corsair fully armed and ready for launch. A second Corsair being loaded with wing rockets (a hint of additions to come). A third Corsair being pushed/pulled into position so it can be armed with wing rockets.

A differnet view for sure.

Possibly what a Kamikaze Pilot saw as he made his final death dive for the Emperor.
Keep em' coming, Mike!

Either that or what a BH pilot saw on a fly over. Thanks LaRRy.

Nice shot. I see you have the tug. Still waiting for mine to arrive. Chris

Superb shot Mike and agree with Larry's comment about it being a Kamikaze's view ! :salute:::salute:::salute::

Thank you Steve. The USS Bunker Hill was struck by two kamikazes in May 1945 during the battle of Okinawa so its understandable that LaRRy and you came to that thought.

I did have a very short stay aboard the USS Coral Sea (CV-43).

However, I believe that Navy Planes DO NOT fly directly over the flight deck air space.

24/7 planes are either launching or recovering off the flight deck. Probably not that active in 1941-1945!
My thoughts would lead me to believe that flying over the carrier would interfere with delicate and complex patterns of the flight operations.

If we have a carrier man on this forum, that would be an interesting question.

Either way, your layout and shots are SUPERB!
