Nice display, thanks for sharing. The USAAF line is one that I am definitely dipping my toe into. It looks really good from what I've seen so far and we haven't even scratched the surface in terms of releases. I'm eagerly awaiting more airplanes, ground support vehicles and personnel.

I've just in the last few months started building some old plastic model kits (both armor and aircraft). It's nice to be able to use some them as backdrops for some of my K&C figures even though the scale is not the same. Kinda fun blending them together.

I hope K&C comes out with another USAAF fighter plane soon. I agree with Brad's comment that the P-38 is probably too big for polystone, but maybe a P-47 or a P-51D this time around? We'll see. Anyway, I really like the figures in this line and hope that Andy will continue it with more.

Thanks Ron. Growing up I built lots of WWII kits and then began collecting some about 20 years ago or so, but am now just getting around to start building them again! Trouble is my eyesight/steady hand (lack of)/patience, etc. seem to not be what they used to be.

The P-38 pictured here is a 1/32 Revell plastic model I just finished building/painting.

The P-38 is such a large fighter that I felt like it wouldn't look too much out of scale with the 1/30 K&C pilot. But in reality, the plane should look much bigger than it does in the photos in relation to the pilot.

Depth of field is perfect. Putting the the figure on the foreground and the plane further down on the background will make the composition looks very natural scale wise.

You are right about keeping the figure in the foreground... that makes it look okay. If I put the pilot right next to the plane, then it's obvious that he is too big for it. That lightning is so big though, it barely fit on my dio board, so I couldn't put him as far away from it as I would have liked.

I don't think that would work in poly. Here is the wooden they built.

What about a plug type design where the wings insert into the fuselage as is the case with real thing anyway-I am referring to a simple male-female coupling system so that individual wings could be manufactured for the larger warbirds hence eliminating the weight/stress issue of a single polystone mold. In addition, I would hope that a smaller and maybe layered shipping box could be utilized as was the case with the Berlin Tenament. Looking forward to more aircraft!
