Though I don't post often, finally got around to displaying the collection and will try to photograph as have always enjoyed when others have shared.

- AJ

Will start with Polish Lancers and Janissaries - mostly Arsenyev with a few Nevskaya

AJ, Absolutely gorgeous pieces! Thank you for sharing. You're inspiring me to share more of my Arsenyev and Nevskaya gems. Do you have a PB401 by chance? It's a mounted Renaissance knight with flag.

Joe

Thanks Joe - no, I have only seen pb401 for sale once - it was this year from Thor on ebay - I think he sold it for $1000 or $1200.
The closest I have is pb14.3 - I can try to get shots tomorrow.

AJ,
I saw that one too and missed it literally by seconds...I was completing the purchase and the screen flashed and showed it as sold. It was the competition
piece from the Aeroart book, a real stunner. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet if I ever want to get one. Thanks again for sharing; you have many amazing pieces.

Here are some shots of PB14.3 - I had looked for this for years and was happy to finally find it this year.

Interestingly this is the only piece I have from Arsenyev where the flag was designed to come apart (the top half fits in to the part where the knight's hand is) anyone else have a piece like this / seen this variant?

Really liked the flag (if anyone could provide some information on the heraldry I would appreciate it) and the intricacy of the armour painting - you can see two hounds on the shoulder portion of the armor if you look close. So hard to photograph - I don't know how you guys do it.

Astounding beauty AJ!!!! Oh my, what a glorious masterpiece!! To me knights like this are the pinnacle of miniatures. This is why I collect Russian pieces....to find stunning art like this. It just captures my imagination like no other. Thank you for sharing. I see the hounds you described on the beautiful, impeccably painted armor. The flag is mind-blowing, and I love the color palette selected by the master artist.

I have a variant of this piece, but mine does not have the flag that separates from the handle. I have never seen one like that, but it is a good idea. I will need to photograph mine and post photos. I've shot it before, but I never thought the photos did it justice as yours have. Mine has a Revelations themed flag with the spirit of Jesus Christ instructing John of Patmos to write letters to seven churches of Asia Minor as a prophetic warning.

Thanks again for the fantastic photos,
Joe

I like the flag that way. It’s better for shipping and you don’t get metal wear at the hand. I’ve never seen one like that, but a good idea

Joe - glad you enjoyed - p=would be happy to see your version.
Zach - I agree re the flag - I don't know why they don't do it more often.

AJ,

The art work on these pieces is simply stunning! I have never seen or heard of Arsenyev and Nevskaya before. Congratulations on a fine collection and thanks for sharing them with us here. Please post more pics as you're able.

Mark

Thanks Mark. Those are two Russian studios that produce some of if not the finest pieces in my opinion.

Attached are pictures of Aeroart's Emperor Maximilian EW4 from their Elite Warrior Series made by Arsenyev.

The flag is apparently based on Maximilian's Triumph which is a book the emperor commissioned before his death in 1519. I have only seen two others and the flag was similar but not the same.

I will try to take pictures and post them today or tomorrow. I think yours is better but mine is pretty unique. There was a lot of variety with the PB14.3's.

Some more of my Renaissance collection . . .

Included Aeroart LK11, PbB25.1, 3709, and 3703

PB25.1 - I have only seen this variant with flag - which I would love to own one day

LK11 - I enjoy the detailing from older Arsenyev production

3709 - would like to add to the landsknecht - unfortunately have had to sell a few to fund other purchases over the years

3703 - really enjoyed the pavise on this - (interestingly it is the figure from 3702 with the weapon and pavise of 3703)

AJ, Great figures! The detail on the Arsenyev Landsknect's is amazing. I've never seen a P25.1 in that configuration- a very unique piece indeed.
Thanks for sharing the photos- Joe

Conquistador with a few inca or maya.

Arsenyev LK 10 - though not technically a conquistador I use it as such - if Thor's book is to be believes only 5 of these made

Arsenyev AZ 2 - one of their early Aztecs

This is a Figurine Emporium Piece - they had a few more that I wanted to pick up but as far as I can tell they are no longer in business

This is Bijato - I don't have many from this studio but thought it had character

I’ve never seen the one with the bird on his head. Is that aeroart? It’s very cool
