it's really nice when you can start a diorama with a K&C Alamo facade...

it almost ensures a nice job...

even for an amateur modeler...

I just finished this today...

so here are some pics...

as always...

close-up pics show all your mistakes...

so I still have some touch up work to do...

Very good work, Mike.
Came out great.

And ....., I looked real close, but can't find the mistakes you're talking about ^&grin

You're good, Mike {bravo}}

Always a pleasure to see your diorama works.

Konrad

thank you Mark...

thank you Konrad...

Konrad...

the door handles on the Alamo church need to be much higher...

they look like they were designed for a midget...^&grin

the stucco around all the door headers need to be filled in better...

the pencil line over the 3 small windows...

just a couple of other little things too...

no big deal...

easy fixes...but nonetheless...they need fixing...

when you look at it under the scrutiny of a close-up picture...

all the flaws are magnified...

and they really...really...really...bug me!

Looks fantastic!!!! Oh...to have the talent of Mr.Miller!

Neat Mike, too bad is has to be stored under the bed. You have captured the scene very well.:salute::, Robin.

Excellent Mike. Love seeing an Alamo scene. Nice work you've done here.

btw - What name do you prefer to be called... Mike or Michael?

Mike, This is Really Nice and one of my favorites from you ! I wonder how well these would be at the Texas Show !

Wayne

Just superb I am at a loss to describe how much I love this. Fine work

I looked and i looked and couldn't find any mistakes/faults so for a "Amateur modeller" (I think you have moved on from that title) it is brilliant mate well done :salute:::salute::

Well Mike your dio certainly got my attention, but then I'm sure you would have known that^&grin. The Alamo has always been my second favourite collecting era and your set-up is a cracker and definitely scores a home run for me.

I'd tell you not to beat yourself up over those mini problems that as the builder- bug you. However, I know exactly how you feel for I have lost count of the amount of mini mistakes/snags I notice in most of my dioramas and always, repeat always after I have posted the pictures on the forum. Trust me Mike the guys on here would never notice them unless you highlight your annoyances.

Whilst on my feet I must also congratulate you on your JJD Christmas full page set up shown inside this month's TSCM magazine advertising Crown Miniatures. As soon as I opened the magazine I said to myself "I know whose dio this is". Well done Mike and once again impressive work.

Great effort and very fine result . Would be even better if you could hide the bases with a bit of sand or colour them in the same colour as the ground work
guy:)

Bob

thank you Bob...I thought of you 100 times during the build...even went to your thread for inspiration...they are small mistakes...I will correct them in a day or two...sometimes...Nicholas...Crown Military Miniatures...is so under the gun at times...that he will borrow a pic for a deadline advertisement...I have told him he is welcome to anything I have...

Hi Mike,

very good detail work! Thank you very much for posting!

Best regards

Timo

Timo...thank you...your work is also an inspiration...

Great effort and very fine result . Would be even better if you could hide the bases with a bit of sand or colour them in the same colour as the ground work
guy:)

thanks Guy...love your work too...I was lazy on the pics...I really just made this for fun and to sell it...

Love the angle of the photos of Bowie.

Thank You

Ivan...thanks...K&C had an early set of bowie with two Mexican soldados...it is long retired...they have a newer version of him alone in a bed firing...I didn't buy it...but it's much nicer than the figure I used...

Really nice job on this Mike, The Alamo is one of my pet projects at the moment, having been working on my Dio for the last year or so.
Again well done and a nice set of pictures.
Mike

thanks Mike...

I would really love to see any progress you might want to share...finished or unfinished...in any stage...i would love to see some pics of your dio...
