American Horror Story Hotel a reminder for Doug (2 Viewers)

Yes, this is my cup of tea. Looks like they have reloaded with some new cast members. Maybe that will give it a spark. The past couple of seasons were so so. I always like the opening sequences they come up with.

I think each year was worse than the year before except that Coven was the worse. Didn't even finish the last two seasons.

I'm with you, the series has totally lost it's way and gone from Horror to shock and gross out tactics, nothing scary. Horror is a very simple formula, the first 2 seasons were understated and left the mind to form the Horror in the setting and anticipation, now there just splashing freaks and gore.

Yes, the first two seasons were outstanding. Things did drop off the last couple of seasons but I thought even those were superior to the average TV fare. Aritistically I thought last year was the best but the plot lagged.

Even though I didn't care for the last 2 seasons I will give it a chance.

IMO, season two was the best, it's my favorite anyway.

Will be watching tonight, we'll see how it goes.

The Walking Dead returns Sunday night, I think Fargo comes back next week.

Not to mention it's October and AMC and others show horror movies leading up to Halloween, I'm a big horror movie fan to say the least................

The horror movie genre has really gone downhill in the video age. It's very rare that anything watchable comes along. I don't know if it is Hollywood PC or what but they don't make them like they used too. Now it's mostly found footage and haunted house stories with the same tired plots. Give me Jason and Freddy any day over that. Some of the TV horror shows have gotten better but mostly because they have relaxed the censorship rules.

Agreed; whoever came up with the found footage/shot from the camera holders perspective needs to be staked to an ant hill and covered in honey.

Speaking of which, the trailer for "Green Inferno" looks interesting, not sure if it's any good or just another torture type movie..............

Crimson Peak look good.Penny Dreadful is one of the creepest shows on TV.

I'm probably one of a handful of people that actually saw Green Inferno. Definitely not the modern PC horror flick. A throwback to the 70s cannibal movies. Not a great movie but I give them credit for trying. Of the recent horror flicks I like The Babadook and It Follows.

I'm a huge fan of Penny Dreadful...

where else can you see Frankenstein...Van Helsing...the Werewolf...Vampires...the minions of Hell...Witches...and Dorian Gray...

every monster and evil being I grew up with all in one show...

First episode weird enough and with a decent murderer on the loose story line to keep my interest. I will tune in again. -- Al

I really wish they would push the envelope a bit on this show! LOL. I thought that was a pretty good start. Kind of The Shining meets The Hunger. I'm not a huge Lady Gaga fan but she does capture the circa 1920s glam vampire look. They also gave new meaning to getting nailed.

That was a good one, haven't seen Wes Bentley since Ricky from American Beauty..................pretty creepy feel to it overall. The serial killer on the loose is a twisted freak, yikes, eyeballs and tounges out, crazy glue applied elsewhere, ok then.

They got me hooked with that episode, keep it going now...................

I hope this show creates a little buzz for "The Hunger" which was a very stylish vampire flick. The Lady Gaga character and her companion seem to be inspired by that flick that starred David Bowie. Bowie's music was a big part of last season. It would be great if the thin white duke gets a cameo but I understand his health has not been great. The only downside was that the creepy kid angle has been overplayed since The Shining twins and Poltergeist in the 80s. I could also do without the Scream-like killer making phone calls.
