American Horror Story Hotel a reminder for Doug (2 Viewers)

Well, it wasn't a surprise as to who the 10 Commandments killer is, but it was a well done episode. -- Al

Liz is really stealing the show this year. That has been the most compelling story angle so far. Good to see him/her and Kathy Bates go Butch and Sundance to end the last episode.

Neat way to end the episode, but I am under the impression that bullets don't hurt vampires so the results are going to be interesting to see. -- Al

I was thinking that as well but it seemed to work on Valentino who was apparently a vampire. I somehow doubt that the Countess goes out like that though.

the Countess has so many enemies...

it's a toss up on who they will pick to kill her...

the obvious choice would be Bates...the tranny and Bassett...

probably Bassett...

but knowing American Horror...for a twist...

I'm picking a dark horse...

I'm gonna guess the quiet...demure...wife of the detective...

I know it's a long shot...

but it's never the obvious in Hollywood...

Things wrapped up this week in an unexpectedly upbeat way. The Liz character stole this season. It would have been nice if Jessica Lange or Bowie had put in a cameo at the end (particularly under the circumstances) but alas it was not to be. Overall not a great season but this show is always well done.

Liked it well enough to watch the whole season. And the Hotel Cortez stays open for business, to boot. -- Al

Saw a decent horror flick last night called "Always Watching." My expectations for horror films are rock bottom but that turned out to be a pretty good one. Nice little cameo for the recently passed Angus Scrimm. The "slenderman" or "The Operator" character as he is called in this film has some rumored connection to the upcoming AHS Season 6.

Doug...

Sept 14th...

Looking forward to it. All the info on this season has been kept quiet so far. Read something about it having a connection to Stephen King's The Mist.

Thanks for the heads-up. It had slipped my mind and I would have missed it. If it's anything like 'The Mist', it should be worth watching. -- Al

yea...

FX has been very secretive about it...

the trailer is off the charts weird...
and makes no sense at all...
not a common theme in the clips...

even the title doesn't give a clue...

I think Lady Gaga is back in this series...

Agreed; thanks for the heads up Mike, I thought I had this DVR'd, but I did not.

Al, I'm with you, 'The Mist' is just............wow, it's something else, the ending is off the charts.

The scene in the drug store is spectacular in a number of ways.

What a flick.

George, I thought 'The Mist' was really well done for that type of movie. The creep factor was really high and it was disturbing on a number of levels. And no happy ending. Hard to beat for the genre. -- Al

I read they are making a TV series based on The Mist. There were a few of the WD actors in the movie. I don't think AHS6 will be directly Mist-related. But that has come up in the online rumors along with Roanoke Island, mirrors, slenderman etc. So a lot of possibilities.

And the new Exorcist show on Friday!

OK, episode 1 plenty creepy enough to bring me back. Plenty of questions and directions to go in. Who could have guessed that moving into a centuries old farmhouse in the woods and in the middle of nowhere would be a bad idea? -- Al

I felt that writers and effects were cost cut,,,after enduring a hillery commercial and review of the worst remake in history,,"the Magnificent village people vs the cowboy bandits " it was enough for me,,,no comparison to the past seasons

If there is anything I've learned from watching a multitude of horror movies it's 1) don't mess with the hillbillies and 2) don't buy an old house that is underpriced for some unknown reason. This season is a bit different in style. So we shall see.

not clear yet on why Gooding...Basset and Paulson are not narrating the story...

I suppose it will be clear in time...

agree with the never pay a cheap price on the house theory...

but the hillbillies are not doing this...but I bet the know the story behind who is doing it...

the piggy stuff is over the top bizarre...

I'm in for a second episode...
