Pretty interesting concept of a purpose-built hotel of horrors, some really twisted but interesting characters, vampires, serial killer, all make for a show that still has me watching 3 episodes in but feeling kind of creeped out. -- Al

That was another strange episode. I sort of have mixed feeling about interjecting real life serial killers into the mix. Particularly those from recent times. There are probably still a lot of relatives around of the people they killed and the show may unintentionally glamorize the killers. Gacy did remind me a bit of our old friend Twisty in his clown makeup. I've gotten bored with the kid angle. Wouldn't a mom who found her abducted kid maybe call the cops and/or the dad (who also is a cop) instead of taking him home to take his temperature? Hopefully things pick up again. I've said before even when this show drags a bit it is still entertaining though and the scenes are nicely filmed.

That was a decent episode. They should have title that one "Clothing Optional" since a lot of hanky panky going on. Lady Gaga has a very bizarre face. It works in the show but I don't think I've ever seen anyone who looks quite like that.

Quite liked last night's episode. Thought it very clever how the writers used Valentino's early death to spin a story into the hotel and tied the Gaga character into it. This is the best season I have seen of this show, given that I did miss the first season with Lange as the psycho nurse. The several story lines are all interesting enough to keep me watching. -- Al

That was pretty good. I wonder if they filmed some of those scenes at Valentino's mausoleum? It kind of looked like the real deal. The storyline with the cop and his wife with their missing kid doesn't work for me but thankfully that has been minimized. Poor Kathy Bates just gets to look up from her book from time to time. I hope she gets a bit more involved. She has become the Daryl of AHS. I rank this season behind one and two but better than three and four.
I read Jessica Lange might make an appearance this season. That would be interesting to see her square off with Lady G.

Didn't realize that there was a season previous to the Lange "Asylum" season. That means I missed the first 2 seasons. Never was aware of the show previous to Asylum. I first watched the show in Season 3, Coven, but couldn't get through it. Watched Season 4, Freak Show, completely and enjoyed it but this season is far and away the best I have seen. I'm going to have to track down the first 2 seasons and watch them. -- Al

Most people seem to enjoy the first two seasons the best. There was a bit of a flashback earlier this season when the Countess visited the house for the abortion/birth. That was the same house featured in season one. I thought old Dandy did a great job as Valentino. He was a dead ringer when you look at some of the pictures of the real Valentino. Interesting (at least to me ) is that someone recently broke into the grave of the silent film director Murnau (who turns Valentino into a vampire in this episode) and stole his skull. Very weird stuff.
