Andy's Talk at 2011 Chicago Show (1 Viewer)

Fantastic coverage Steven. Thank you for your impeccable report! :smile2:

Thanks for the report, Steven!

Very good to know about more Napoleonic French cavalry coming. Grenadier Guards are a great choice! I hope they don't get retired too quickly...

I'm very excited about the upcoming Eastern Front and ACW stuff as well. I'm surprised Boone asked about the long-promised WW1 fighting French and cavalry...I guess there's just not that much interest in these

... So, as I was browsing through all the threads of Chicago coverage last night I had a thought about Steven & Lawrence. I visualized them at a table conversing. Then there conversation went to me...So Lawrence, Steven says, how are we going to deal with this Markey fellow...he is buying up all our glossy's on eBay and paying beyond top dollar...Oh yah Ed (ecuriel) he is standing in on the convesration too. Now my mind is spinning and I can't help but to wonder what sort of plans they came up with to oust me? Then again maybe they never spoke of me at all...LOL! Regardless of how I might be looked upon I love you guys...I even love that Louis dude too, he's pretty cool!
Don't worry Mark, Lawrence was not at Chicago and I would not talk about you anyway.:smile2: When collectors talk about getting rare sets at a "bargain" when they only have to spend a few hundred dollars on eBay, I like to tell them about the 50% discount cabinet at the old K&C store on Wyndham Street. Glossy figures like the Clark Gable or Charlie Chaplin which were originally US$16 were marked down to $8. K&C couldn't give away these figures in those days, and I always liked the bargains.:wink2:^&grin

Rub it in, rub it in! My Clark Gable "only" cost me 20 times that of the glory days:eek:

Hi Guys,

Greetings from Chicago....
Our friend Steve's recollection is a wee bit off. Twenty five years ago K&C did indeed have a small display case offering damaged and repaired items at a discounted price.
However Steve's memory of these Clark Gable and Charlie Chaplin figures that in his words "we could not give them away" is, in my own words, a distinct stretch of his imagination.
Actually in those very early days of K&C those two particular figures were amongst the first major success our modest little company enjoyed.
Anyway it was great to meet up with Steven and the rest of the Figarti boys over the weekend. Congratulations on the new releases.

Best Wishes and happy collecting to one and all, I'm off to San Antonio in the morning.
Andy C.

Thanks Steve, great report.

Can you tell me what:
"Question 16: Retired? All ARW Blue Figures retired." means? ^&confuse

I am not sure what is retired.
Thanks

Dear Larry,

When he was asked about what sets were going to be retired, Andy answered, "All the American Revolutionary War Blue Figures." At the time, I assumed he meant all the figures in this theme wearing blue uniforms, which would make them the American figures.:smile2:

From what I surmised, I don't think we're going to see Rev War figures in the near future any time soon.

I messaged Andy last week about any upcoming AWI releases and he replied, saying "We plan on releasing more AWI in 2012. Unfortunately don’t have the exact time yet… but we’ve got some great action figures for this line in the works."

Why are British paratroopers & American also German Paratroopers not been made for some time?
They make for some cool figure sets. I think the British Para are cool as Hell Market Garden can cover
1st para 82nd & 101st Who would not buy figure sets in those catagories I sure the hell would.:wink2:

I also can't believe that they are not popular The MG range is one of the best ranges IMO that K&C do. Quite a few ranges I would backburner to give these priority

Also Mitch I would like to see a New British sherman. Armor played an important part in MG

I have remarked a few of the existing allied armour for XXX corps so they fit in with the MG range. Just take off the existing decals and replace with bought or home made. I think it was mentioned by Andy that armour etc may come. I hope the next move with the MG range is some more ground troops for brit para's and, Frost needs to be depicted as a figure. You cannot have a MG range or anything about the para's at Arnhem and not have frost!!!

i talked with andy at the show about normandy fallschirmjager done with the proper camo and blue gray pants and andy basically thinks they have done enough paras and that they won't sell. I am thinking that the problem with the last batch is that they were the north african/med theatre. I wish some other folks would start the drumbeat for normandy fj's because i think they would be one of his top sellers. Tgm has some nice poses but the camo is paintef in streaks and does not quite look right. It took 8 years to get the jagdtiger made and it is going on 4 to get normandy fj's made. I also love the british paras.so spread the word to vote for more paras

Now that the Jag is out of the way, he's onto his next mission. After that, it will be the true Mission Impossible: Seminoles!

With the next batch of MG releases we'll get this!:)

I'll start beating my drum regarding German Normandy Para's. They would be a great addition to the K&C Normandy line of figures. You could also re-release some 101st Para's as well and create the battle of Carentan. That would seem like a no brainer. Plus, there are many of us who were not collecting K&C at the time of the previous 101st releases so some updated figures would be great.
Someone should start a new thread with German Normandy Para figures they would like to see. Let's show Andy there is a strong interest in these figures.
