Martyn,

Very nice set up.You can almost hear the roar of the howitzer.

Happy Easter,

Brian

I can tell you Martyn, if Matte did not exist, this would be my collection. Love the way there is so much variety and thought that has gone into this series and envy the fact there is so many vignettes available allowing duplicating realistic scenes from the actual period. Matte manufacturers could sure learn a few lessons on the type of releases that would be popular. Glad for you that your manufacturer is giving you what you want. Well done.
Robin.

Very imposing gun emplacement Martyn. Nice touch with the dogs. {bravo}} Chris

I thought I would start a thread dedicated to the Anglo Boer War 1899 – 1902.

Trophy of Wales, among other great Toy Soldier manufacturers, had a wonderful series of sets available to collect when they were in business and I have been very lucky to have found most of the catalogued Trophy sets along with a few that were produced as "Specials"

Here is a picture taken from the magazine “With The Flag To Pretoria”

Here is my attempt to recreate the scene using all Trophy figures, including the puppy

Here is the same picture in colour

I will be adding more as time goes by, please feel free to add your own

Love the dog...always of interest to see the older style TS...they have something about them that I think fits in with the history of the period they represent ... likewise the magazine illustrations.....have always been wrapped in the artist's who worked in Indian ink/wash..pencil in the 1930's and early 1940's.......thanks for sharing...TomB
