Greg,

I love the tunnel rat diorama! I had a friend named James Sotomeyer who was a dog handler/tunnel rat in Vietnam, and I think you really captured the feeling of that incredibly dangerous assignment!

Greg, that is one of my fav dioramas from the K & C Diner comps, I hope they reintroduce that comp or something similar, always added some interest to the annual diners imo. Personally I prefer a simple display with a bare shelf plus some trees etc as I tend to rearrange my displays almost weekly, but I always enjoy checking out the dios on this forum.

Thanks Isaac ,Louis and Matt for the replys. Although not a big collector of more modern wars, I do like Aussie campaigns. WW2 gives me some sort of connection with my fathers service so the name sapper was adopted for the forum .Dad served with the Royal Engineers in Papua New Guinea. Thank God I never had to go to any Wars. [Sapper] Greg.

I'm interested in most eras Greg, but these days I 'try' to just collect Aussie based sets, I'm still selling off all the other stuff on ebay etc, it's a slow process.

My forum name honours my Grandfather who was in the Australian Light Horse during WWI, my Dad was in Lancasters etc in the RAAF for the later part of WW2. I applied to join the Australian Army in 1976, was advised I was too young for Officer training at Duntroon, they asked me to re-apply in 3 months but decided not to as I don't like to follow 'orders', so that was a win win  My brother was 'called up' for Vietnam shortly after dropping out of University, he didn't think that thru I guess, but lucky for him the Vietnam War ended before he finished his training.
