Yes.
I received four boxes of Ex Force Royal Marines
and three buildings to accompany them
They all need to be painted.
This project should occupy about
a few months.

Merry Christmas

Yes,

I had seen a set of castings for sale on EBay in the USA, so my wife decided that it would be a great Christmas present for her to get for me :)

It is the Kaiser's Garde Regiment zu Fuss c.1900 by Tradition of London and even better as they were being offered at only 25% of the new cost(according to Tradition's website) and that was landed in Australia!!

Great news was that the troops landed on the doorstep on Wednesday afternoon, so they were intercepted, and wrapped up, put under the tree by my wife, so I would have a surprise on Christmas morning.

The surprise was that the seller had added a 'little gift' of this box of painted Zinnfiguren ....

Christmas has always been Dad's and my big toy soldier opening time. After all, that's how Dad started as a kid. This year less so (we are scaling down and I was very sick) but we still opened FF's good old Tun Tavern large set, FF colonial violinist and recorder and a lovely X-Mas dinner which we picked up from Treefrog Consignment. Mom made a similar dinner (we get into it when time, etc. permits!)
Would post it but we had to put it in the depths of a curio (imagine Mom's beautiful and classy X-Mas decorations taking over Christmas instead of toy soldiers{sm2}.) Just check out Treefrog's Frontline Figures' 1) Large Tun Tavern set, 2)Christmas Dinner, and 3) Violinist and Recorder. Put them together and the set comes with a nice backdrop of cardboard walls depicting the tavern interior. Will probably post a pic later.
We were supposed to open some Nam (Figarti Headhunter Chopper, TGM hut, 4 FL GIs) but unfortunately health problems postponed that. But we may open it & show it yet - Dad got plenty of jungle from a pet store to make a nice display. Will post a pic if we open it.
Christmas is a great time to open toy soldiers! Dad & my favorite.
Anyway Dad was Santa and Mom was Mrs. Claus and I was sick but that is the usual!
Hope you all had a great Holiday Season and celebrated in some way!
Best Wishes for Health & Hapiness,
Paddy for Pat&Pat

Yes, we noticed the British Grenadier talking with the US Marine (it should be two Marines conversing). But it was a sale (somebody didn't keep track of History) and we rather like the whole Anglo-American symmetry theme!
Please show Hanukkah openings as well! Dad and I both had friends who opened great gifts, including Swoppets!
Happy Holidays to All

I was given an empty toy soldier box, only to be told it was part of the 'deserter' range...............

Among the gifts I received were three generous Treefrog Treasures Gift Certificates.

While technically these came before Christmas, I guess they were close enough to be considered presents... A John Jenkins Designs BF-109 and F4U Corsair 😎

My Christmas present to me was this awesome King & Country Sikorsky UH-34d "Seahorse" Marine Helicoptor:

Not a toy soldier, but we got a rescue puppy. Part yellow lab, part shepherd. We assume German Shepherd, but I saw a Belgian and boy did he look like the Belgian Shepherd. Sent DNA kit off today so will know more soon.

All,

I got Bose headphones that are noise cancelling.

They are the BOMB.
