A recent 'incident' in my neighbourhood has resulted in the death of a young woman, a man shot and several others injuired, apparently caused by a guy on drugs, but who knows really.

What the heck is wrong with people these days? I hope he gets life, but no doubt he'll get a lighter sentence claiming he's a victim of society.

Thinking more about this, IMO people aren't getting crazier, more the fact that personal media technology allows a wider audience of crazy behaviour.

In other words, a similar percentage of crazy behaviour as in the past, just more people can see it.

Maybe along with more people having access to more media options, now ensuring more people have the opportunity to hear / see these things, is that while the percentage of people who do these things may remain the same, the population of the world is higher than it's ever been, meaning it seems to be occurring more often than the past and being more common, making it almost the norm to hear about them.

Steve,

I agree, more people combined with more opportunity to see what they're up to.

However 'Substance Abuse' is often a common factor in these cases, makes normal people crazy, and crazy people even crazier.

I agree, we are getting too much news and finding out about thing we would have no idea about previously. If you watch TV you would never leave the house.

Yes undoubtedly, substance abuse and the ease it is available and which is a common factor in these occurrances which has turned many cities in the West into no go zones and even more so, very dangerous places after dark where the Police don't patrol for fear of upsetting the local "Community" and though we dare not say it out loud, we all know why, and of course by pandering and appeasing these criminals, they become even more daring in widen their horizons and if anything is done, they claim to be the victim.

How true Steve, more and more people are finding it hard to cope with modern life, the police etc seem incapable of controlling their behaviour, they pay to much attention to political correctness.
