I will start the question again and the reason I am asking is firstly there were promises of new stock in a couple of weeks, that was a month ago and secondly I heard, fair enough 3rd or 4th hand, that they are really struggling with cash flow and effectively have no cash to pay for stock! Which after the way they treated both dealers, can only speak for the UK, and their customers is not unexpected, was told membership was down by 60% in the UK over the last 3 years and the collectors club have nothing to sell.......... Just old stock, which is being reduced by many UK dealers to clear shelves, look at UK bulk sales site. William Britains has been very badly run, pure and simple, over the last few years. so it will either plod along the down, pretty much like Conte did for years [from whom in 2018 there was once again information that new sets would be released......haha], or we will see another owner pretty soon. But I do not know who really owns it? It is Ken or as I was hearing at the London Show, Bachmann still own a chunk of it as well......

the poor management means that the market has passed Britains by and with the new players, T Gunn, War Park, Eagle Design and with companies like J Jenkins upping their game it will very difficult for Britains to come back.

Looks like ED upcoming 88 is destined to arrive before the Britian's one. They might have missed the boat. Robin.

have bought a few tanks and Roman stuff from E Design and I can recommend it, the same with War Park. Looking forward to the 88mm gun, as well as some of their other stuff.

Someone in the thread said the "the WB Boat has sank", I agree, plus it maybe too far down to salvage.

Has anyone purchased their new releases? Like the ones that came out several weeks ago? I've not seen anyone on here post anything...

Sign of the times the new Toy Soldier magazine has a WB showing the Dambusters crew which must be 3-4 years old at least whilst everybody else has a good selection of new figures.

You have to feel for the Uk collectors club with nothing to promote , the UK site has no meaningful updates . Were now entering August no new figures and a big backlog of figures still to come out and the few figures that are coming out, many seem to be split between the UK and US makes you wonder if they are struggling to afford to produce product.

And still the total lack of info either on here or on there website

I have most of the new ACW gigs. Still the best in the business IMO, and the best prices. Will post some pics in the next few days. Chris

I recently purchased one of Britains Egyptian WAN figures. The only reason I did, was because I had store credit and wanted to use my cash to purchase from vendors that are not sold through Treefrogtreasures, such as R4a.

Other than that, I am totally off of Britains. Their attitude towards collectors is insulting.

I could understand if it was just the 88 but just about every prototype that has been shown has failed to surface as a production item. It has already been over 10 months since the surrendering Germans, Steiner figure etc. were shown in Chicago and they are nowhere to be found.

I bought 2 of their recently released ACW Union sets. The mounted infantry officer and the horse handler. Both are excellent sets however, things at Britains seem disconcerting to say the least with the constant pushing out of releases and lack of communication. There are NOT a lot of options for quality, metal ACW figures left. First Legion's Mass Battle range is the last hope in comparable quality and price to Britains for ACW figures. {eek3}

I counted 34 new sets on Britain's website in the last two months. It looks like there are another 12 sets coming at the end of August. I would say they are doing their best to get back on schedule. Are these not available in the UK?

There are also new sets listed in the WB section of "New Releases" at the Treefrog store.

There are 19 figures etc. listed as "Pre-order Only" under the WW2 section of W. Britain at the Treefrog store. Some of those were previewed close to 3 years ago. A collector's frustration is warranted considering the long delay in releasing items.

Any news from Britain's symposium this last weekend?

They posted some pictures on their Facebook page of the event they had at Pamplin Park in Petersburg this past weekend. That's all I know though.

Chris,
I'd love to see some pictures of those new releases when you get a chance. I've not purchased any of the recent releases except for two of the winter Germans from two years ago maybe. The sculpt and painting on them were impressive compared to older releases.

Will try to get a few posted this weekend Cameron. Chris

Thank you so much, Chris! Your other pictures in your Gettysburg series are appreciated too. I particularly love the detail on the horse that the Union soldier is holding. General Gibbon looks nice too. I've had my eye on purchasing him. I've only recently got back into collecting W. Britain.
