Been to Johns to pick up your 'resprays' mate, a masterful job he has done as always. Like these pics, especially the overhead ones, just what a low level 'Mossie' pilot would see just before dropping a five hundred pounder on that rotten lot in black......^&grin:wink2:
Wayne.
Nice addition to your collection Wayne
guy:smile2:
Tempted to do the same Wayne, never liked the open frozen doors, but did not think of Black. This has come up well thanks to John and all for the price of one beer.^&grin, Robin.
Very nice. I might have to find one now so I can attempt to close the doors and repaint it. I think it looks better now.
It was bit of a challenge to close the doors though....
Firstly one was loose, so I jiggled that off, then used some 'gentle persuasion' on the other and managed to break the glue seal, and the it came off.
Next I had to cut off the lug that held the door into the body using wire clippers, as its a metal door, but a resin body.
Now came the 'fun part' because the door was slightly bigger that the door frame so I needed to file both the door jam of the car, and the door to get a good fit.
This also included cutting the window leading edge and cutting off part of the door closer on the driver's door, as it was too close to the seat.
When a good fit was achieved, I then hand painted the door jams and parts that were wood, then glued in the doors and painted the body in sections over 2 days (so I could hand hold) using HUMBROL Gloss Enamel with some fine brush retouching of REVELLE Silver on the chrome parts.
Wayne was VERY pleased with the finish, as I was, so another K&C conversion out of "Obee's Paint & Panel Shop'
John
I wish I had an 'Obee's Paint & Panel Shop' here. Really nice work.
Thanks
Andy

Very good mate but you should have gotten John to paint it red, it would have made it look faster! {sm4}
