WooooW!

Those are excellent photos Louis! Thanks for posting them for me. I really enjoyed the gun boats too. Can you give any details about the NWF sets I am really interested in them and would like to put a mention of them in my Durbar catalog under the Indian Army section. If you want I can pm you my email and you can send the information to me that way. If you are interested I can send you the Durbar Catalog I put together its still in working format but you could get an idea of what I am looking for. I have it saved in PDF format so it should be compatible. Drop me a message and if you are interested.

All the best

Dave

Dave,

Basically, you are asking for one whole chapter of the text of the book. If you really want me to provide it, I will try to accomodate you, but Andy indicated that the first book that his new "King & Country Publications" is going to publish is Larry, Hans and my K&C book.

Louis,is there any news on when the book is due.?

Rob

Both Andy and I have been leaning on Hans and Larry to do the photography and format the book. I am hopeful that they will get to it sooner, rather than later.

Hi Louis,

I will wait for the book to come out and will obtain the information I require then. My intent is to give people a reference that will enable their search for sets or for information. Right now I think that this is an area that has been ignored and with all the questions I get regarding the Durbar I felt it should be addressed. I have included a section on the Indian Army Sets that could be displayed with the Durbar or as a supporting display. Since I am still gathering information on other companies that have produced Durbar or Indian Army figures I thought I would ask for the King and Country set numbers and issue dates, but they are not even close to the top list for companies I am researching so I can wait on gathering information from King and Country. Also since they didnt do a large run of sets and they are NWF Indian and British Army and not the 1903 Durbar it wont be as difficult to run down the set numbers and issue dates etc. Thanks for posting the pictures and I will let you know when and if I do decide to publish anything on this era.

All the best

Dave

Louis,

Your collection is beyond magnificent! I hope I will be able to see it in person one day. It is also nice to see the great diversity of figures you have in your collection. I know your WW II figures are wonderful, but the remainder of your collection is equally outstanding!

Thanks for letting us see the pictures!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Louis,

Thank you for the kind invitation. Perhaps I will be able to take you up on it some day! :)

I love that Dickens collection.I have never seen them before and i think they are wonderful.I would collect them at a drop of a hat if they were reissued.

Rob

They are still available at or near original retail from several dealers. I know Brunton's Barracks in Arizona has nearly the full collection of figures, and might have one of the facades as well. Give Pam a call, she is a friend and one of the nicest dealers out there (and that's saying something, considering how nice virtually all of the dealers are).

Did you manage to fing space in your musuem for any other glossy
manufacturers.
cheers Rob

There is very little space in my museum for any manufacturer except K&C, with a little Figarti, Honour Bound and Heco (tin toys) thrown in. However, in storage behind the knee walls of my museum are litterally about 2,000-3,000 assorted Trophy, Frontline, Imperial, Toy Army Workshop, Britains, Britains Premier, Americans in Miniature, Steadfast, Tommy Atkins and other glossy toy soldiers (with which, I suspect, are misboxed about 50 or so K&C figures, and a few polystone vehicles). I have to dig this stuff out over the coming months, separate out the K&C products, and either give away or re-store the rest.

Put me on the give away list. :D

Hi Louis,

Thats an amazing amount of stuff hidden away. Do you remember what Britains sets you have hidden away? Also where did you find the Toy Army Workshop sets I have only seen those in the UK Do you know some one over here that deals in them?

Anyway I doubt I'll ever get tired of seeing what else you have for the Museum.

All the best

Hi Louis,
I would be honored to have your 50 K/C figures and vehicles next to mine and displayed proudly in my office. I would even put a sign up that states " On Loan From The Louis Badolato Collection". Please email with shipping costs because I will pay for shipping.
Thanks Greg

Yeah, I'll take some of that 50. I'll find it a good home... Mine!

I actually started the sorting process over the weekend. I pulled out about 5 sets of K&C, some wonderful Tommy Atkins Jacobites, including a Highlander dancing while a second played the fiddle, and a couple of other Highland related items by other makers, all of which went out on display.

I also pulled out all of my old matt Frontline Civil War (about 30 sets, including Gun Teams, horse drawn Caissons, the fence set, and the Confederate Leaders [Lee, Jackson, Longstreet and Stuart] around the map table with camp chairs and the two Aides de Camp, as well as complete groupings of Union Infantry, Confederete Infantry, Union Fire Zoaves and Louisiana Tiger Zoaves) all of which are being gifted to my wonderful 10 year old nephew Benjamin, who spent his allowance on a gift for Alec, and who is presently studying the Civil War in grade school.

Louis I could use some support troops from Trophy and Zulus to keep them busy....The Lt.

Dave,

I honestly don't know what Britains sets I have anymore. I know the first set of metal toy soldiers I ever bought was the Britains 15th Ludhiana Sikhs. I vaguely remember having a ton of other Indian Army and Gurkha sets, a bunch of line infantry and Guards sets, U.S. Civil War Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery sets (both sides), and virtually all of the Britains Premier (WWI Era) sets.

I bought my Toy Army Workshop either from Steve Balkan's Shop Burlington Antique Toys on Madison Avenue in NYC or directly from the Guards Museum Toy Soldier Shop in London (where I also got a good portion of my Trophy stuff). While I still have my Britains stuff to give away, virtually all of the Toy Army Workshop stuff has found a new home in Hans' collection.

Wow Louis,

You must have an amazing timecapsule hidden in your storage area. I still cant get over how great you museum looks. Keep posting updates for us especially if you rotate you displays or add anything unsusal.

All the best

Dave
