Louis, you and George are going to be disappointed when the O's take the East.:wink2:^&grin -- AlThe second half starts today! The AL East is wide open, everyone within 6-1/2 games, should be some great meaningful games played in September by all of these classic franchises! I have already gotten way more out of this season than I expected as a Yankee fan, and am greedy for an awesome, tight, old fashioned AL East race.
Hey George, how about a one game playoff to decide who wins the decision between the Yanks and the Sox just like 1978, win or go home. I'd sign on for it today, you in?

Walk off HR from Mike Trout! They get no hit for six but manage to win. A sign of a winning team ^&cool

Yeah, I was a bit discouraged after last night's loss too. Another game where the O's stranded runner after runner (11 in all). You just can't keep doing that. And how many times can Chris Davis get robbed? He has now lost 3 Hr's over the last couple of weeks. Things just aren't falling into place right now. As I keep harping on, the starting pitchers just have to do better, and a timely hit here and there wouldn't hurt either.:rolleyes2: The O's need to start producing because it will get late, fast. -- AlI wish it were true Al, but I'm facing the cold hard truth today and after looking at a 9 game road trip with Tigers, Yanks, Rays then we come home for a little homestand of Tigers, inter league series then off for a 10 game road trip out West{eek3}...I'm betting this part of the schedule will more then likely put the nail in the perverbial coffin for 2015 and when it's completed sometime in August I'm not shocked we'll be sitting in last place, pitching on all fronts is inconsistant, can't score when we get guys in scoring position, can't get the big out or get that big hit this year, almost seems to be a reverse of last year, trying to hold the faith but that ol line of "lots of time left" doesn't mean anything when your team is falling in the standings week after week...Sammy

Brad:
Every Trout at-bat is a must watch. The guy is amazing.

Before the start of tonight's game against the Tigers, the O's announcers gave the following stat: the O's are 9 for their last 90 Ab's with runners in scoring position. No wonder they're in a tail spin. -- AlYeah, I was a bit discouraged after last night's loss too. Another game where the O's stranded runner after runner (11 in all). You just can't keep doing that. The O's got 2 things tonight that have been in short supply, a superb pitching job from the starter Tillman, and a timely hit in the 9th inning to score 2 runs to pad a 1-0 lead and give the O's a 3-0 win. Tillman completely shutdown the best offensive team in the AL on one hit. He allowed 2 of the first 3 Tigers to reach base and then proceeded to set down 23 straight men to complete his 8 shutout innings. It was as good as Tillman has ever been, maybe his best game ever. -- AlBefore the start of tonight's game against the Tigers, the O's announcers gave the following stat: the O's are 9 for their last 90 Ab's with runners in scoring position. I am going to sit back with a decent meal and watch the Angels and Sox. It has been a while since I watched a game that wasn't recorded or simply highlights.
Greinke beat the Nats yesterday, going 8 shutout innings in a 5-0 victory (1-0 into the 9th when the Nats bullpen imploded, again). He lowered his ERA to 1.30 and ran his scoreless streak to a very impressive 43.2 innings. There must be something in the LA water that encourages scoreless streaks by their pitchers as Drysdale held the record, lost it to Hersheiser and now Greinke is making a run at it. Between Kershaw and Greinke the Nats had a bad weekend, going 0-2 with 25 K's against those 2 super pitchers. At least the Nats won the first game of the series to avoid being swept at home. Now we have the Mets and their super rotation coming into town, with Harvey, deGrom, and Syndergaard. Good luck to the Nats. -- AlI continue to watch and be awed by the year that Zack Greinke is having. Won his 8th game of the season (against 2 losses) tonight with 8 shutout innings of 1 hit ball. He has now started 18 games this season and has allowed 19 earned runs, 5 of which occurred in his 1 non-quality start this season. He has allowed 0 runs over his last 5 starts, encompassing 35.2 innings, but only has 3 wins in that stretch. Bullpen collapses and lack of run support have cost him several wins and contributed to both losses. It's not too far fetched to say his record could be 15-1 or 16-1. He has allowed 5 runs in the 1 aforementioned game, and 3 runs on 2 occasions. He has 15 starts with 2 or fewer runs allowed. He is quietly having a spectacular year. -- Al
