Hi Guys

Stimulated by the latest pics of KC new Conrtol Tower I though you might like to see a Battle of Britain Diorama I made a while back. This one is only 2 levels and 2 dimentional but as space is always a problem thats how it turned out!!...as you can see I like to mix original WWII items
with some of my Dioramas...The RAF Medals were my Fathers and the Bomber Command patch was my Uncles!!...The sight is from a Bofors
40mm Anti Aircrat Gun...It will have to suffice till Andy makes one in1/30......Hope you like!!!!!!

Very nicely done Steve, the medals, patch and gun sight are great additions to the display. I'm sure your father and uncle would be proud to be honored in such a manner. :)

Awesome Steve. I really like this set up where you've included the medals, patch, and gun sight. I think that adds so much to the display. That tower is great as well, and the black and white photo is very nicely done and real looking. Thanks for posting your pics.

Magnificent Steve, I love the mix with original WWII items . This is the correct way to put your father's medals in the spotlight . He would not have wanted it otherwise .

Steve - OUTSTANDING !

I love when you mix historic articles with current K&C figures - makes a great display and you have one there !

Steve great diorama. Last week I finished the book,Men of Air The Doomed Youth of Bomber Command by Kevin Wilson excellent read.I have been in a K/C rut lately tired of buying tanks/jeeps/troops and then last month brought the Hawker Hurricane and now the K/C spark is back. This Christmas recieved the Spitfire/Typhoon and some of the RAF men and after seeing your diorama I knew I made the right choice. Thanks for the photos and great work.Greg

Very cool. I like your RAF control tower. A K&C made version would be a popular release IMO. Nice Pics. !!!

very very nice Steve, great display, I like the tower a lot!

Happy New Year

Carlo

Nice job Steve. Where did you get the control tower. Is that from Chris Munro at Soldier Gallery?

Brad

Steve, your display is awsome, and a real tribute to your father and uncle! Congratulations and nave a great 2012!

Hi Brad Glad you like it!. I built the Tower myself, its completely scratchbuilt using MDF Board-Plastic card and other stuff from Evergreen. The only things that i did not make were the loudspeakers /Siren and Fire Buckets (Verlinden)..the brickwork is thin printed card from a Model Rialroad shop, the roof of the Duty Room is corrugated paper (Wifes box of Chocolates) and the grass is model railrad track ballast painted in Oils!!!...So now I have given all my secrets away!!....Thanks Guys for all your kind comments!!.

Terrific display of one of my favourite K&C series! {bravo}} Your scratch built control tower is great. Having a fascade instead of a full 3D building is a better option not only for the wallet but for size considerations when displaying items on a shelf. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year! {sm4}

Superb dio Steve - I love the control tower! I plan to build one of these myself in 2012 - I hope it turns out as well as yours....

Thanks for sharing the pics. Happy new year!

Fantastic scene Steve, just love your control tower, the work of yourself and Jameson this year is an inspiration for RAF dio's and I will be turning my hand to this in 2012. Thanks again for posting and Happy new year (hope to see you in the bar in London again next year)
