Imperial Japanese and United States naval forces fight the fourth carrier battle of the Pacific War to control the Solomons Island chain, including Guadalcanal, on 26 October 1942. USN lost the carrier Hornet and the IJN carriers Shokaku and Zuikaku, 1st Carrier Division and Pearl Harbor veterans, were heavily damaged. Although the US forces withdrew after the battle, the US lost 26 pilots and aircrew, the Japanese 148, further crippling their naval air force. IJN carrier forces did not intervene further in the struggle for Guadalcanal, assuring US victory.

Diorama notes: The Enterprise and Hornet tactically deployed with separate Task Forces and attending screens during this battle. Carriers were later operationally co-located within a common screen of surface ships. This diorama depicts the two carriers together due to space constraints. Ship models, Enterprise, Hornet, South Dakota, Shokaku, Zuikaku, etc depict their real life counterparts, IJN battleships and cruiser models are not exact representations of the battle. We hope you enjoy this short, 2 1/2 min presentation of the battle, our third video diorama production. Chris & Michael

Well done...love the SBD...and the funny jap carrier with the side smoke stacks.....have a flight sim game with Jap carriers...USN and Brit...terrific game...but it wont play on Win 7 .....I am looking for a spare PC with win XP ...plenty of RAM and a good Graphic card so I can play the game again....hate it when they upgrade everything...somethings always ends up stuffed.....great fleet,,,,TomB

Fantastic job, Chris. I just love USN carrier warfare in the Pacific. All my favorites, the F4F's, SBD's, the PBY, the Vals, the Type 32 Zero, the carriers, all just fantastic. Nothing like carrier warfare.:wink2: -- Al

The video and music was intense!! Loved it. Family members fought in Pacific and Atlantic/European/African Theaters during WWII. Thanks for sharing. Chuck :salute::
