Has BSP done any Napoleonic scenes?

We get a lot of questions on how we do our "Trick" photograph ....Basically we don't do trick photography. We create all of our environments from scratch, and we rarely use a preprepared backdrop.
We like the challenge of the hobby aspect, of building everything ourselves. It is easy to take a preprepared backdrop outside, in natural light, and shoot it on automatic, with your camera, it is fun, and produces a great result.
From the photography end, we set up lighting to produce the desired "Climate", and use various camera settings. No we are not professional photographers we just experiment.
As far as computer retouching, compare the pics above. Besides the obvious black and white. I airbrushed in dust by the tracks, to suggest movement, and feathered the fire and smoke effects a bit. As you can see the real untouched scene is basically the same. Alex
Battle Scene Production's labor of love and the results of it is always a pleasure to see. What's next
We didn't want to disappoint you hard core Zuluites, so we researched the project heavily. We replicated the North East end exactly, according to the reference material we had. And we chose the 18:15 to 24:00 attacks on 1-22-1897.
We were a little confused as to who was where, and Frontline's VC set contained some "Celebrities" which we used, and a few we didn't, because they were not at this location. Feel free to criticize our figure placement.
All in all, it was a fun project. I will take an overall shot to show you the background, which is not totality revealed in the pics we did so far. Alex
LT. Did you get my PM. Just LMK if you are interested before we move on.
Byooootiful! Now I am being tempted to start the Zulu series.
N-P
There has been a lot of fantastic Zulu scenes done....The subject matter was not of much interest to us at BSP. But when Frontline wanted a Zulu scene done, Nick and I did a lot of research. Even with the "Colorful" garb of the Brits and the Zulus, we imagined the battle was quite nasty.
So as usual we depicted the battle in a grittier way than most. After seeing the results, we have become fans too. You know we love dirt and destruction. We are not here to play, but to convey the reality of battle. Alex
