Hi Guys. Need someone with uniform knowledge.
? about the figure with both Hands holding the stretcher. Is he wearing the m43 Field Jacket? To me it does not look like the M43, like the Medic behind him with the larger pockets.

Thanks
Hi there,
The guy in front of your (our) pic carrying the stretcher with both hands is wearing an M41 Field Jacket.
If you go on the internet you will see multiple different coloured variations of this jacket as they were supplied to the US Army by multiple contractors.
Hope this helps...Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy.
Sorry Andy there is no way that's an M41 jacket, they were tan in colour
Scott
Sorry Scott...They were not only tan in colour...For the reasons I mentioned in my first post.
Andy.
Whatever, it is still one of my favourite pieces in this series. Robin.
Have a great trip and time in Oz Andy. It's a shame you still receive repetitive negativity (not polite suggestions and polite questioning on accuracy) from members but that's life I guess.
Tom
Couldn't agree more Tom mate. Have an awesome trip down under Andy. I can't make it across the ditch this year, but knowing our Aussie cousins they'll no doubt make it a memorable visit. The results of the diorama competitions will be interesting.:salute::
Hi Guys,
I don't doubt Young Scott believes he is correct in his assertion...and many of those jackets were indeed 'tan' or desert sand in colour...BUT NOT ALL as I originally made Chrystal clear in my response... and as I double checked in multiple sources on the internet.
On a positive note I always eagerly look forward to my annual trips down under and meeting up with blokes from all over Australia and even a few Kiwi 'cousins' who fly up from the Land of the Long White Cloud.
Sorry you can't make it this year...Especially with the Centurion and the 'Long Tan Set' being previewed ...but there's always 2020!!!
All the best Guys and Adios for now,
Andy.
First I tend to agree that it's a BIT dark for an M41 jacket. Back in my reenacting days we used original uniforms (all the neat repro stuff came years later). A "mint condition" M41 jacket is NOT "tan". The specified color was Olive Drab #3. OD is basically yellow ochre mixed with black. The lower number = lighter color. In about 1943 the new combat uniform was to be changed to OD #7. OD #3 was a light green-khaki color when brand new but most of the garment faded rapidly after laundering. That left them in a very tan shade (sometime a very light tan at that). I can't say that there weren't M41 jackets in the later color, I've just not heard of them. The poplin shell of the jacket did hold dirt and oil stains pretty well, and SOME infantry units wore the M41 jackets inside out so that the darker, duller, blanket lining was exposed. Sp, a bit dark? Yup, but totally wrong - jury is still out. It's a fine set and if I really let it bother me I can repaint the figure (I just felt a collective shudder in the collecting community at that remark).

Getting back to this thread. Anyone else have a issue with flaking paint with this set? I have two of these sets and both have had flaking paint mainly the with the medic figure helmet seems to be the worse. I do like this set I'm not trying to bash it or anything. But Kinda disappointed a little because of the paint issue.
You are not alone! These is one of my favorite. Very disappointing. My Club Figure Doolittle is also flaking.
I wonder if K&C can fix these just as Figarti did for their M3A1 Halftracks and M7 Priest.
