This was king and country's last chance to make a big splash for market garden with September nearly on us but no nothing. Absolutely gutting. No final frost or wounded or medics just Such a shame.!

Scott..

Did you really think they would?? I am with you that its stupid to neglect the range but, did not expect anything from this range in this dispatch. Did expect some US troops to be added to to capture the imagination of those who like this part of D-day etc and, we have had quite a few brits recently but, equally to counter other manufacturers recent deployments in this area.

as expected though
i didnt think they would be visiting market garden this month or even this year....
they have plenty of other areas to focus on

Scott,
Mate as I have just started collecting MG I feel the need for more as well, but all I will say is.........Good things come to those that wait.
Wayne.

Obviously MG isn't the be all and end all mate so im not bothered at all,we can't always get what we want.

Very true Wayne. Also Andy has not carved in Granite that there will never again be a single British Para, it would of course be nice to have more but there a whole lot of other ranges out there that need visiting each year. You never know whats coming in the future, that's part of the fun .

Yep the best bit is if you don't get it this month there is always next month.

I thought I would never get any more Crimean War figures but after a couple of years (of me buying multiples) we have very good news for later this year. So you never know your luck there might be more in the future.

Scott,
I totally get that you are a mad Arnhem fan.

However on 10 JULY 12 in front of 71 other people Andy did indicate this series had ended. This has been confirmed by several forum members who were present. How you go from that response to conclude this Despatches was Andy's last chance to make an Arnhem splash is quite hard to understand. If he had been planning to release Arnhem this month he would more likely to have replied watch this space than say series ended. Even if he changed his mind 10 minutes after he said it he is not likely to have been able to design and produce some new figures within 3 weeks.

Apologies for stating the obvious but the way I understood it clearly meant Arnhem was never going to be in this Despatches.

Regards
Brett

PS Please note for what it is worth I am keen for a Frost figure also.

Brett, you don't have to speak for Andy and defend everything K&C all the time

I voted no for the following reason. Arnhem was once my favorite range and I called for its return as much as any other member here. However since the release of British figures for D Day and then the RAF it has slipped back to Bronze position (to be topical:wink2:). The fact is I have so many D Day/RAF sets to keep up with that I welcome the chance to get these before any further Arnhem. Also I understand that we simply cannot always have just what we want month after month, there are many people who don't even collect WW2 and they do not get half the releases we do, how fortunate I am in my field of collecting was sharply brought into focus last month in what can only be described as 'The RAF Dispatches'. Packed to the gunnels with releases that could have come straight from my wish list.

Don't get me wrong , if Andy decides tomorrow to change his mind and release either a very few or a huge wave of Arnhem releases I will of course be a happy clappy collector and they will of course be on my list, but this way I get a chance to make some ground on other fronts first.

Keith,
Not speaking up for Andy at all. I was one of the several forum members I mentioned above who were present during Andy's talk. Speaking up for common sense in this particular case/thread.

No problem if you consider I always defend K&C. I can understand it must be frustrating for you as after all you did say recently "Sorry if it always sounds negaitve but K&C has made me pessimistic". I look forward to the day K&C can produce something that meets with your high expectations.

Regards
Brett
PS Please note I dont defend everything. For example ; when you raised the Yalta set (again) and lack of Arnhem figures (again) whilst commenting on the new "waste of a figure" Club figures I did not make any response at all{sm4}.

as for wanting and getting what we want month after month you should be an LAH collector... we do!!!!!LOL its never quiet in that range!!

Its not high expectations just my money's worth. And sorry but a Charlie Chaplin is not what I look forward to.

going purely on past history of what Andy has definately said will not be released or, does not sell or won't be done shows that collectors have warranted optimism for future MG releases especially, brit para's. Not so sure its showing common sense prevailing when many things are said at different events or, meetings with collectors that turn out not to be the case further down the line. Andy has changed his mind many times that is a clear fact.

I would like to think that collectors like Scott and the many arnhem fans should be able to air their clear frustration about the range without having to be told that common sense is being interjected into their, what must be, non common sense frustrations. I am sure that its not the way that Brett intended it to sound but how it has come across.

I think it was too much too expect them this month but, clearly things change. Look at the eastern front and, the jagdtiger just for two that have had much said from the manufacturer about not being done.

Scott, chin up mate who knows what will happen

Likewise Naps fans probably do not look forward to more WWII and WWII fans probably wonder about the Life of Jesus and the Sons of Empire series etc.

Another point to remember is Club figures are sold directly by K&C and not through dealers. If the Chaplin idea does not work then it is K&C that loses out since they only do a few Club figures each year. Only K&C will know if it is a "wasted" figure. Another non K&C example might be Britains bringing out Titanic related items. A Zulu fan might not understand the thinking but there are a lot of Titanic fans out there. Perhaps K&C might pick up a few Chaplin or movie type fans.

Perhaps you might understand that some others might find the Chaplin figures interesting. I personally am not a Chaplin fan myself. I am a Club member but not sure if I am going to get them. My personal preference with Club figures have been the leaders and Naps and North West Frontier type figures.

I'm not really too bothered guy's just thought andy might have done this to anticlimax the releases this month, but nah, the yanks are cool but just wish they had invasion kit haha, the amount of posterson this acting like teachers pets is getting embarrassing but, not pointing fingers but come on guys, I like king and country too but I am able to see when prices are slightly too high and when makers make historical accuracy mistakes and when great ranges ate being replaced by far lesser products. Come on people get it together.

Just what I've noticed over the past few years.
