Bill Cosby... (1 Viewer)

Obviously I can understand why the victims thought they wouldn't be believe. It's the celebrities who now say they new there was a problem that rile me!

Martin

Yeah I'd have to agree Martin, it's disturbing to hear that Crosby had such a reputation in the industry for such a long time and nothing was done about it. Whats worse is the fact that so many woman felt it was pointless speaking out or making formal complaints, simply because they didn't think they would be believed or taken seriously.

Some serious questions need to be asked of those in the know.

It's all very sad, no woman deserves to be treated like that.

Totally agree on all points. We had EXACTLY the same thing over here with the now infamous Jimmy Saville. Too many who had suspicions as to what was going on not speaking out when they should, and victims doing the same through fear or thinking they would not be believed.

Ben's Chili Bowl in DC is in crisis. Cosby is a notable celebrity patron of Ben's, heavily promoted when he visits and the eatery even has a huge portrait mural of him on the outside wall of the eatery. What to do? No doubt the portrait will soon disappear and all connections will be disavowed. He will be the dreaded 'unperson'. -- Al

Al...

don't know if you read the link I posted with the 42 statements from the alleged victims...

they are really disturbing...

Ben's Chili bowl...hahaha...I dunno...
I wouldn't want to eat next to him...
I would guard my bowl of chili carefully...^&grin

if you do read them...you will notice a recurring theme in them...

he seems to have a fetish for wet hair and girls that are drunk or act drunk...

it's just flat creepy...

Mike, I read some of them. Pretty grim. Great thing about the Ben's Cosby painting is that he is looking at an equally big portrait of President Obama. Both are Ben's patrons. I wonder if the President will insist on one or the other of them being removed (all off the record, of course). Don't know that Obama would want his portrait next to and staring at a perv. -- Al

It just goes to show what a different world celebrities live in. If he had pulled this crime once as a normal person he would have been in jail for decades. But he has gotten away with it multiple times and likely will never go to jail. A serial rapist still doing comedy shows. Who are the people buying tickets? You have to wonder.

I'm not saying that Cosby isn't a sex perv but it's amazing how most these women went to his rooms for career advice and stayed in contact with him afterwards.:rolleyes2::wink2:

The other night I watched a special on CNN on the Bill Cosby scandal. It kinda changed my perspective on this. Now I'm in total agreement with everyone that Cosby is a total perverted scumbag and there is no doubt what he did to these women. But as Mark pointed out why did these women return to see Cosby again and again. And why if this was a flat out rape no one of the 20 some odd women made any report of same. Finally the one did and settled out of court for I'm sure big bucks. Now with Cosby on the hot seat they all jumped in with their tales of being ravished by this rape fiend Cosby. Just my opinion but they all see a big payday ahead and seem to have forgotten why they got themselves in the origional situation, the advancement of their careers.
Again in no way am I sticking up for Cosby, but these women were not just walking down the street and dragged into an alley and raped.
It's kinda like you will see on the news where some American is in say, Syria, hikeing. He get's held hostage by ISIS. Well don't put yourself in this situation in the first place, your asking for trouble.

Yeah Gary I'm like you, Cosby's far from an angel but I'm sure some of these women were willing to go down to move up.And I agree now they see a chance for a big payday. If not a settlement with Cosby than writing books,interviews,etc..

Same reason battered women stay with their husband

I would doubt that any of these women would consciously take a drug that they knew would make them lose control of their senses.
If they wanted to benefit from having relations with a celebrity just seduce or make themselves available to that individual. Heh Mr. Cosby
you can have a physical relationship with me if you get me a part or audition for a TV show......
Hollywood has always been notorious for "sofa auditions" and many woman (and some men) participated willingly. This is not the case if
drugs were used without permission.
In addition he repeatedly cheated on his wife and took advantage of his celebrity. If the allegations are true the man should be ostracized
from the entertainment industry.

Off to jail for Mr. Cosby. Adios! Justice has been done.

Is he in jail? I thought he was out on bail. His lawyers will likely tie this up long with appeals and process that he might die before he ever spends any time in jail, but the damage has been done to his reputation. At his first trial Cosby looked so frail that it appeared he was a goner. They even claimed he was legally blind and someone had to guide him into the court. For this trial, he suddenly recovered. That struck me as very odd.

Why he was not escorted directly to jail after being found guilty is beyond me. The news said 2 to 3 months before sentensing, then I'm sure there will be an appeal and the judge can keep him free on bail until the appeal is resolved. I would guess he won't spend a day in jail. Having said all the above there still is something inside me that says are these women truely victims. Cosby didn't just snatch these women off the street. They put themselves in these situations and it seems some came back for more.
I even heard on the news last night 2 women are now accusing Tom Brokaw of unwanted advances saying he tried to kiss one. I think this happened several hundred years ago, come on!

No, he’s not but after the appeals process has been completed, he will have to serve some time.
